The nonrenewal of Coach Meierkort puts a new light on many subjects. For example, I now understand why USD's Athletic Department thought it important to spend money on billboards advertising the football game at SDSU in 2012: The friend they are inviting to dinner is Ed Meierkort. They want Ed to know "no hard feelings" and "we're still buddies".

Another example: The wily Coyote athletic department has caused their opponents to scrap some of the good-natured teasing that precedes football games. I was prepared to run the following in the lookalike thread.
