    Re: Ticket sales changes

Thumbs up from me, too. SDSU's overall marketing campaigns, from all I can tell, hasn't been terribly . . . um . . . aggressive. Putting more effort into it has been needed for a while, IMHO.

    Re: Sanford Health/Summit League relationship

I daresay that a D-I St. Thomas would make an infinitely larger splash in the Twin Cities than UMKC could possibly do in KC (short of beating KU & K-State and going to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen all in...

    Re: Sanford Health/Summit League relationship

If I had to hazard a guess, better tax treatment with the donation coming from Sanford Health vs. personal.

And I agree, some degree of concern is warranted. Not sure how much concern, but some...

    Re: Sanford Health/Summit League relationship

Until SDSU has an average men's basketball attendance over 4-5,000, MVC membership is probably a non-starter.

Turning the Summit League into the Sanford League is not a good idea long-term, imho....

I moved the "St. Thomas to the Summit" posts from today to that thread:

    Re: Sell sticking around

I don't know for sure, but I think there are plenty of P5 AD's making seven figures, so if one of the big boys wants him, and money's the only issue, they'll still get him. 2013 average FBS salary...

Re: St. Thomas to Summit / Missouri Valley?

I'm already on the record here as being for it.

Even if they bolt for the Big East as soon as they're tournament-eligible, the positive PR that the Summit League would get from uplifiting them...

    Looney Tunes Conference

    Summer slow time discussion topic:

Who's in the Looney Tunes Conference, made up of schools whose mascots bear some passing relation to one of the Warner Bros. cartoon characters.

(yes, the last two are different threads, both from 2009.)

    Re: Q&A w/ Justin Sell

The very hint of an inkling of a thought that Sell one day might get a P5 job offer and move on to greener pastures terrifies me more than the departure of any coach at SDSU.

    Re: Augie to the Summit?

Honestly if I were the Summit League I'd invite St. Thomas long before I'd invite Augie--even with the 10(?) year wait before they would be a full D-I member.

If we're recreating the NCC we might...

It was a breathtakingly stupid decision for UMKC to leave the Summit League in the first place.

That would actually be amusing . . . Augie lusts after the Summit League Tournament crowd, and winds up exiled to St. Louis for conference basketball tournaments.

    Re: Augie to the Summit?

To emphasize: under current NCAA rules, a school CAN NOT move up without an invitation in hand from an established D-I conference. CAN. NOT.

Re: MBB SLT 2019 @ Sioux Falls

Fort Wayne winning it would probably be the best possible result for the conference going forward.

    Re: 2018-2019 Season Thread

I tend to the 'water under the bridge' view, although as I said at the time, all of the pre-conference losses were either games the Jacks should have won, or games they realistically could have won. ...
