    Re: GDT: @ ISU Sycamores

Lots of ref bitching on Sycamore board.
  2. Re: Sanford Health/Summit League relationship

Think you're referring medical costs and not pay walls for the Argus. The complaint in St. Charles County (loudly) twenty years ago was "WHY IN HELL ARE YOU CHARGING ME SO MUCH FOR GOING TO THE...
  3. Re: Sanford Health/Summit League relationship

For the record. I think Augie and St. Thomas will both be good additions to the conference and if it adds a few more area schools and becomes the rebirth of the NCC that's great too....

    But...

    Re: Augie to the Summit?

I've been at a few games at Swinney. Very low end D2 but relatively full for a high school gym and not as depressing as WIU

    Re: Augie to the Summit?

Before we dis Augie, let's pay attention to existing programs. WIU for one. I'd heard rumors that because of declining enrollment and money woes (plus drawing about 300 a home game) that they were...

    Re: Refs

Couple of points referencing earlier posts:

Katie Falco was shocked that she ran into the same ref doing a D1 game in Brookings and a high school game in a small Iowa town. Don't think this is...

    Re: Refs

Here's the referenced ref clinic-- $375 gets you in the door. Who knew that many people wanted to be refs?

I was in charge of programs for the local Optimist Club for September so decided to have a basketball theme.

First two weeks were Lindenwood women's and men's coaches and third week was a P5 ref...

    Re: Adios PFW

Expected for years. What I'd like to see is Douple being a bit more proactive in finding new members. Three years ago there was talk of Lindenwood making the jump but moving down to the GLVC after...

Re: St. Thomas being "forced" out?

Some discussion on the NSIC (D2) thread that St. Thomas is appealing going directly to DI to the NCAA since they were forced out--and more discussion that this is impossible with rule changes. Even...

    Re: Augie to the Summit?

Finally looked at the Google Sheet. Don't think that means worst academically, only smallest.

    Re: Augie to the Summit?

Augie's bad academically? Does that lessen the snotty superiority they demonstrated when I was in school? Doesn't twelfth mean worse than ORU?

    Re: 2019-20 Men's Roster

I'm more pumped than in Otz's first year. Think we'll be top three or four this year and real good for the next one.

    Re: UMKC IS back

Short drive for me. Swinney is better than rattling around in the auditorium even though it's low end for D2. Retro mascot. What's not to like?

    Re: Northern Sate MBB

Kudos to Sundance Wicks for taking himself out of the running. I'm cool to jumping after three years, but one year is unacceptable.

    Re: 2019-20 Men's Roster

Certainly think that he did too much to protect his scorer the first year, but on balance he was a plus. I predict that USD and SDSU will be top tier Summit next year. That's good for the state and...

    Re: 2019-20 Men's Roster

More transferring ahead. There's some good D2 transfers coming into the Summit. Get some, sit some, lose some. It's all ok. Like TV newscasters moving from market to market.

BTW-- At the Memphis game I sat near a bunch of season ticket holders. it wasn't Daum that impressed 'em, it was Jenkins. "That guy can be a Grizzly"

In both Dakotas? Where the Missouri Synod is there's schools. Don't think the ELCA believes in such things.

    Re: Augie to the Summit?

Thought I might have been stereotyping when I said that the ESD was slow and low scoring. Didn't put the numbers in a spreadsheet, but it looks on scanning that there is a fairly high portion of...
