  • GDT: Hawkeyes vs Jackrabbits on the Island

Here are 2 teams in the consolation round who did not play up to expectations yesterday. 11 am game that should be on WNAX. I would guess we will see a more talented team in Iowa. I also hope we see a more talented Jackrabbit team today too! Go Jacks!!
Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

Change in the starting lineup today:

    King
    Howell
    Tellinghuisen
    Daum
    Theisen

Be interesting if this is a long term type thing, or just a matchup type lineup for Iowa. I think the eventual line up will be King, Jenkins, Howell, Telly, and Daum.

Very interesting lineup change. I hope Daum is feeling better today.

Howell... stop throwing up junk... please.

King! Somebody worked on their outside shot in the off season. Makes him a much more dynamic and valuable player.

Love the fight the guys are showing so far. Things are getting chippy, love that they aren't backing down.

Jacks up 36-33 at half time. Need a strong second half.

I sure hope they can close it out. A win over a Big 10 team would be a shiny prize that would come up over and over throughout the season. Awfully tight since about 5:00 left in the first half - going to be tough to finish.

40-40 with 17:00 to go. It would be awfully nice to have the end-of-last-year Daum emerge from his hibernation about now!

Keeping up with a team that is picked in the top of of the Big 10 isn't too shabby.
-South Dakotan by birth, a Jackrabbit by choice.

Except they got smoked yesterday by Louisiana. Two of their players are out - both of which play a lot I believe. One with mono and another with another injury. Regardless...I would love a "W". 54-52, 11:57 left.

Theisen with a 3 and the Jacks lead by 8 with 8:23 left.

Jacks have 3 in double figures. Daum with 9

Key in the doghouse? Too many turnovers yesterday? He had 5, but a lot of others had 4 or 5 too.

And that will matter literally zero, in the "big win to hang your hat on"'department. This win would be mentioned over and over into March. You know how it works if you've followed mid-major basketball at all.

Up 8 with 8:30 to go.

It is like USD beating Bowling Green in football this year. It doesn't matter how great the team, all that matters is they are perceived as the "next level"

Back-to-back turnovers by the Jacks and a 7-0 Iowa run.

Jacks lead by 1, 5:20 left

Key gets in and immediately turns over the ball by dribbling into a trap.

Jacks panicking with back to back shot clock violations.
