Has anyone heard who will be the new coach? I did hear that a former UND assistant interviewed, but heard nothing more.

Are you referring to head coach at UND? The former assistant Bubba Schwagart got the job at UND.

No, Shannon Moore's replacement. Outside of interviewing a former UND assistant, I haven't heard anything.

Not to sound caustic, but I have problems reading minds, there is a thread about Shannon Moore. I have not heard anything btw.

Ok, let me try this again. When Shannon Moore resigned to take a position with Florida International, that left an opening on the football coaching staff. I have heard that some candidates have been interviewed, one of which was a former coach at UND. So, this thread is hopefully about identifying potential candidates for the open coaching position not about Shannon Moore.

I have no idea, and a mind reader I am not.

I understood your question the first time, however, I have no answer for it. Wish I did because I'm interested as well.

Terry Vandrovec will probably inform us about some candidates either right before the hire, or right after. More than likely after, but sometimes he gets the scoop before hand (he is a professional and doesn't deal with unsubstantiated rumors).
If you think nobody cares about you, try missing a couple of payments.

If I remember right, during the signing day chat TV mentioned that SDSU received more applicants than Stig and Co could even process at that point in time.

Looks like Luke has had a good history coaching receivers and special teams at both UND and WIU. He had some great ones at UND and you have to think that he had an impact with them.

When I saw the name Schleusner, I was curious if he had connections with the Schleusner's in Rapid City. Dr Rand Schleusner is a surgeon in Rapid City, but before that he was an All-American for the Huskers. He was the first lineman to run the fumble-rooskie play that is no longer legal. But when I Googled Luke's history, I found that he hails from Menomonie, WI. That history could prove valuable when it comes to recruiting Wisconsin and even the metro area of Minnesota. Welcome to the Rabbit Den, Luke!

From Terry's blog he will be recruiting the Chicago area. also Clint Brown will be taking over Iowa for Jay Christensen, who will be recruiting Florida.

                          Re: New Coach

TV mention in Tuesday Tidbits that Schleusner has great connections with the Chicago area and that Schleusner and Josh Davis would cover this area together. Seems like NDSU has found a few good ones in Chicago, like Steve Walker and now Sam Ojari. Also the line backer Lolly and Bennodetto for us came from that area. So I think this was a good choice, and TV says that Coach Stig relied on Dale Lennon's recommendation. If the guy is good enough for Dale Lennon, then he his good enough for me. Fortunately he does not do special teams, or this board would be calling for his head after the first misque.

Can't help you Gopherhole on the connection to the Rapid Surgeon. This name is not a common German name, so there is some chance they might be related, even though the geography does not fit.
