2 to enter SDSU hall of fame
Nancy (Joyce) Keppen and Greg Schmidt will be inducted into the Jackrabbit Sports Hall of Fame during South Dakota State's Festival of Champions banquet Oct. 10 at the Swiftel Center in Brookings.
Schmidt was the first SDSU wrestler to earn All-America honors at the Division I tournament, while Keppen was a star on the women's basketball team in the days before conference competition.
Flandreau's Rick Weber will receive the Ralph Ginn Award for Coaching Excellence.
The Festival honors athletes from the 2003-04 school year who achieved all-conference or higher recognition during the season.
