Jackrabbit middle hitters lead sweep

Carley Boll tallied a match-high 13 kills and Kim Bostrom added 10 as South Dakota State swept Bethel (Minn.) in convincing fashion Saturday night at Frost Arena.
The Jackrabbits won by scores of 30-19, 30-16 and 30-10 to improve to 12-11 overall. Bethel fell to 8-17.
Boll, a sophomore middle hitter from Watertown, Minn., posted a .360 hitting percentage (13 kills, 4 errors, 25 attempts) and Bostrom, a senior middle hitter from Circle Pines, Minn., added a .600 hitting percentage (10-1-15) as the Jackrabbits hit .369 as a team for the match, compared to -.034 for the Royals. Boll also led the Jackrabbits with five blocks as SDSU held a 10-2 blocking advantage.
Stephanie Behm contributed 25 set assists in a reserve role and Kristie Klusaw added 20.
Defensively, Sarah Simet led all players with 18 digs. Samantha Pearson added 11 digs for the Jackrabbits.
Liz Glesne led Bethel with seven kills. Katie Snyder tallied a double-double with 19 assists and 10 digs. Kayla Smith led the Royals with 11 digs.
SDSU continues home action Wednesday against Northern State. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Frost Arena.
