Hruska named state's top player
Roosevelt high school senior Kathleen Hruska has been named the Gatorade South Dakota Volleyball Player of the Year.
Hruska, a 6-1 middle-hitter, led the Rough Riders to the state semifinals, earning her All-Conference accolades for the fourth straight year, All-State for the third straight year, and All-Tournament for the second straight year.
Hruska, the Riders captain and all-time leader in digs and kills, is also captain of the Riders top-ranked basketball team and a member of the track and field team.
She will attend South Dakota State in the fall.
