    • The 30th-ranked Creighton Bluejays will travel to Sioux Falls, S.D., for a neutral site game against South Dakota State on Tuesday evening. The game will be played at Canaries Stadium with the first pitch set for 6 p.m.

    • The Bluejays are 2-0 against the Jackrabbits this season, sweeping a doubleheaderin Omaha, 13-0 and 3-2.

    • While CU dropped out of the Collegiate Baseball poll, the Jays moved up four spots to 30th in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll.

    • Brad Dutton’s 15 sacrifice bunts match his total of last season. The senior’s 30 career sac bunts are the second most all-time in Creighton history.

    • Head coach Ed Servais is two wins shy of recording his 250th career college coaching victory (248-116-1).

    • Creighton’s bullpen has a 19-2 record this season and a 2.80 ERA.

    • The Jays are 25-0 when scoring five runs or more in a game this season, including 11-0 when putting double-digits on the scoreboard.

    About The Opponent
    South Dakota State enters the game 12-27 in its first year at the Division I level. Last Wednesday, the Jackrabbits pushed Minnesota to extra innings before finally falling, 19-13. SDSU has won five of its last eight ball games. The Jackrabbits are still looking for their first win against a MVC opponent (0-7) but have posted a victory against Notre Dame this season.
    As a team, SDSU is hitting .271. Greg Geary (.315) and Tony Lane (.306) are the only players hitting above .300. Geary has hit eight home runs and driven in 38 runs. The Jackrabbits pitching staff has compiled a 8.10 ERA with the opponents hitting .337 off them.

    Meet the coach
    Ed Servais enters his second season at the helm of the Creighton baseball program. In 2004, Servais directed the Bluejays to a school record 22 Missouri Valley Conference wins and 35 total. He was honored as the MVC Coach of the Year, the first time in league history it was awarded to a first-year coach. Servais sports a 248-116-1 overall head coaching record and a 66-34 clip at Creighton.

    Tuesday’s game against the Jackrabbits will be broadcast on KHLP (1420 AM) and on the internet at www.gocreighton.com. Brad Burwell and Yano Mangiameli will call the action from Canaries Stadium.
    During the entire 2005 season, 38 regular season games, including all road games, and the ConAgra Foods Missouri Valley Conference Tournament will be broadcast live on the radio and webcast on the internet.

    Reese On Roger Clemens Award Watch
    Scott Reese has been added to the Roger Clemens Award watch list. The Roger Clemens award is in its second year and is presented to the best college pitcher. Last season, Jered Weaver of Long Beach State won the award.

    Reese On Wallace Watch
    Scott Reese has been added to the Brooks Wallace Award watch list. The award is presented annually to the national baseball player of the year. Kurt Suzuki of Cal State Fullerton was the winner of the 2004 Brooks Wallace Award. The left-hander joins Evansville’s Erik Lis and Wichita State’s Mike Pelfrey as the only three MVC players to appear on the watch list.

    Shutting the Door
    When the Bluejays have taken a lead into the late innings, the bullpen has come in and shut the door. Creighton is 22-0 when leading after seven innings and 22-0 when leading after eight complete.
