R.C.'s Geary ties all-time SDSU home run record
FARGO, N.D. - Greg Geary of Rapid City tied the career home run record for the South Dakota State baseball team during a doubleheader against North Dakota State on Saturday.
Geary, a senior first baseman, hit home run No. 42 of his career during the opener, tying him with Billy McMacken (1987-90).
It was Geary's ninth homer of the season and came in an 8-1 win over the Bison. The Jacks also beat the Bison in the second game of the day, 7-0.
Also in the opener, Geary broke the SDSU career at-bats record, erasing Doug Sehr's (1991-94) mark of 647. Geary has 652. . . .
