Area scene: Geary named to D-I baseball honor squad

BROOKINGS - South Dakota State first baseman Greg Geary was named to the NCAA Division I All-Independent baseball second team.
Geary, a senior from Rapid City, led the Jackrabbits in all three triple crown categories with a .337 batting average, 10 home runs and 52 runs batted in. A four-year starter, Geary ended his career as SDSU's all-time leader in home runs (43), doubles (54), hits (256), total bases (439), at-bats (692) and put-outs (1,346).
The Jacks finished the 2005 season with a 17-37 during SDSU's first season at the NCAA Division I level.
