Worcester, Lograsso honored by Independents
South Dakota State University forward Kelsey Worcester and goalkeeper Nicole Lograsso have received Division I Independent Soccer weekly awards after leading the Jackrabbits to a 1-1-0 record against Southeast Missouri State and Murray State (Ky.) this past weekend.
Worcester, a sophomore forward from Anamosa, Iowa, earned Offensive Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal in the 77th minute of the match to give South Dakota State a 2-1 victory over Murray State this past Sunday. It was her fifth goal of the season and third game-winner of the year.
Lograsso, a freshman from Ames, Iowa, saved a total of 10 shots this past weekend to earn co-Defensive Player of the Week honors. The freshman shutout Southeast Missouri State in the first half before allowing a goal in the 87th minute. Lograsso led the Jacks to a 2-1 victory over Murray State on Sunday, using a shutout in the first half and four saves in the second half to get the win.
