HURON - Dakota State University and its sister institution, South Dakota State University, are Partners in Indian Education at the 2006 Dakota Oyate Challenge Basketball Tournament. The Dakota Oyate Challenge is being held starting on Wednesday and concluding on Saturday at the Crossroads Convention Center in Huron.
Dakota State will be webcasting live all the tournament games of the Dakota Oyate Challenge. This is the third year that the tournament has been webcast. Support activities are coordinated by the staff and students of DSU's Diversity Office, E-Education Services, Computing Services, and Center of Excellence. Midcontinent Communications also partnered with DSU to help webcast the events. To watch the live webcast, click on the Dakota Oyate Challenge link at www.dsu.edu. The video for each game will be archived to DVD and will be available for purchase.
DSU also sees the Dakota Oyate Challenge as a recruitment opportunity as there will be hundreds of high school students in attendance. Throughout the tournament, Dakota State will have a booth and reception area highlighting technology and degree programs at DSU and a career fair will be held on Friday.
I have never heard of the event. Anyone know more about it?
