Soccer looks to continue winning ways in Fargo
BROOKINGS, S.D. — The South Dakota State University women’s soccer team, fresh off a 7-0 shutout of College of Saint Mary (Neb.), heads to Fargo, N.D., this weekend looking to improve upon its 3-1 record.
The Jackrabbits will face off against Weber State Friday at the Bison Invitational in Fargo. Start time for the match against the Wildcats is set for 4:30 p.m. at the Ellig Sports Complex. WSU, which brings a two-game winning streak into the invite, is coming off a 4-2 victory over Wisconsin-Green Bay last weekend. The Wildcats are 2-2 on the year and bring back seven starters from a 2005 team that earned the program’s second Big Sky Conference Championship and trip to the NCAA College Cup.
SDSU moved to 3-1 on the season with a 7-0 rout over College of Saint Mary Monday. The Jackrabbits broke or tied three records in the match.
South Dakota State’s Sunday matchup pits future Mid-Continent Conference opponent IUPUI against SDSU. IUPUI defeated Cleveland State, 2-1, this week to move to 2-1-1 on the young season. The Jaguars will face host school North Dakota State Friday before taking on the Jacks.
