Mansheim claims second weekly award
South Dakota State senior Becka Mansheim has been named Division I Independent Runner of the Week for the second time this season.
A Brookings native, Mansheim finished fifth overall at the SDSU Classic Sept. 30 at Edgebrook Golf Course, finishing in a time of 17 minutes, 29.80 seconds. She finished behind four runners from the University of Minnesota in the 5,000-meter race.
Mansheim also claimed the award after winning the season-opening NDSU Cross Country Open on Sept. 1. Teammate Katie Tornberg also earned Runner of the Week honors following the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 23.
The Jackrabbits are back in action Friday at the Roe Granger Invitational in Aberdeen.
