I am surprised that she put winning ahead of the welfare of one of her athletes. To me that is a bit selfish. Should she not care enough about her athletes to not take risks without knowing the extent of the injury?
It would only be fair if her knee were so swelled up today that she has to use crutches for week. Maybe her coach could hang her vest on them.

Tayler Hill from Minneapolis South. She's pretty good

Hasn't announced but has narrowed down to 3 school - Duke, Minnesota and somewhere else not SDSU. Would be nice to have garnered a player of her caliber. Who knows, if she's hasn't made up her mind yet there's still hope.

I am over the refs.. I really am, but I am going to answer this because it is in response to my post....

The story would start something like this...

In women's hoops action last night the Baylor Bears and South Dakota State University women took to the floor in second round action of the NCAA tournament.

The Jackrabbits got out to a great start going X/X to push the game to a 15-2? lead at the X:xx minute mark. At that point however the game slowed down due to some close calls by the officials that took both team out of the rhythm of their offense.

The Jackrabbits continued to push on offense and at one point had the lead built up to fourteen points, before 10 quick fouls caused them to send the Bears to the line where they would make 14/15 from the line in an impressive free-throw shooting half.

Were it not for their success at the line, the Bears would have been down by a much more significant margin than one heading into half-time...

The second half of action started as the first ended with the refs calling a tight game not allowing either team to get a good flow of the game going at the 19:50 point in the second half there had already been 35 fouls called between the two teams.

Maybe the most impressive stat of the entire game is that neither team had a player foul out.

    Etc.. etc... etc...

I would agree 100 per cent here. Why do we have refs to begin with? Their job is to enforce the rules and to call the plays the way they see them. I tend too think the only vested interest in this game for the refs was the pay check they would receive from the NCAA. Why would they favor Baylor over SDSU? Because the game was played in Texas? I dont think so and were they calling the game close in terms of fouls? Yes, but until I can convince myself I know more about the rules than the refs, I don't think I can add anything constructive to the dialogue but I dont think that I am out of order by supporting their decisions. Also, I know I would not have the physical stamina to last 2 minutes running up and down the court and being in position to make a call.

The coach from Baylor was a real piece of work. Not gonna go into it. The substitution had a real odor to it. I agree.

I find it very telling that no one is writting up a cover story of how the game played from beginning to end... not one person not affiliated with either team is writting a game summary that starts at the beginning and covers how the game played out... I havent seen one reporter with the guts to stand up and say... BS on the refs for taking the momentum out of the game....

I doubt ANYTHING will ever be done about the officiating at this game... but I have to move on because I want to focus on the AMAZING things this jackrabbit team accomplished this season. I am not going to let three people in stripes take my pride in this season and make it focus on them instead

Yes. I saw the player hopping up and down and was pissed last night. But the calmer head in me says logically we would have been down by 1 anyway after she took those shots.

Still don't like the "homer" feeling from the first half that sapped some of the life out of our girls. But we can't change it now. Can only hope our returning players use this to fuel their fire next season and go 33-0 and deep into the field of 64 come this time next year.

Seriously, how many teams can say they have EVER won 30+ regular season games in DI women's basketball. I can probably guess at a few - UConn, Tennessee, and that might be the extent of the list. SDSU's women put together an AMAZING season. Proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that they CAN play with the big dogs on the road. And should have earned a TON of respect this season. I told an SDSU friend of mine the other night that AJ will have SDSU in the Final Four within 5 years. What top player in Minnesota, South Dakota or Iowa wouldn't want to play at SDSU. SDSU had the best season among all DI teams in the upper midwest AND beat teams from the BCS conferences at home and on the road.

Really sucks to think AJ is going to have to turn away some of the best players because he doesn't have enough scholarships to go around. What a problem to have.
Sure, the sub only made 1 of 2 (made the first, missed the second). But, the injured player could have missed the front end and been 0 of 1.

Here's how the refereeing "affected" the outcome of the game.We had to sit our best defender on the bench for iffy calls , that let baylor ' CLAW" thier way back into the game .we were on the way to putting this game out of reach , & the ref's tied our players hands behind thier backs with dumb "touchy " fouls, instead of them losing confidence in winning (Baylor)the game ,the ref's neutralized our aggressive play(hard work), & made us bench our starters. This is all because of, you guessed it , refereeing. That's not "affecting" the outcome? All said & done now , but everyones entitled to thier opinion, & that's mine, i'm not going to "white wash" it.

I heard a comment last night during the game I had never heard in reference to a basketball game... I am not sure if it was in reference to Baylor or in a highlight from another team...

They called one of the asst. coaches their Defensive Coordinator... do they really specialize that much????
