Q&A with SDSU women's basketball coach Aaron Johnston

The South Dakota State women's basketball team got back to Brookings at about 4 a.m. Tuesday after a Monday night game in Kansas City, Mo. Less than eight hours later, Coach Aaron Johnston was in Sioux Falls to speak at a booster function. He also managed to stay awake long enough to answer some questions from the Argus Leader.
Q. Your team is ranked 20th in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll that was released Tuesday, the highest standing ever for a team from the Summit League. And yet you're just outside the top 25 in the Associated Press poll. Only one other team - Marist - has that kind of disparity. What's your take on that?
A. I don't know where there's disparity, but there's some other teams, too. It's not like it's a problem or a frustration. We don't worry about it.
Q. After a Saturday game at Southern Utah, you were approached by a summer league coach from Wisconsin and he seemed interested in informing you about some of his players. Does that type of thing happen frequently now that you're in the top 25?
