    Re: 2011 Recruits

Mississippi State can probably gamble on Alwal.

    Check this out:

    http://www.nmnathletics.com/fls/1680...0/teamcume.htm

    Compare that with:

    http://www.gojacks.com/fls/15000/sta...B/teamcume.htm

Scroll down to the season box score.

Minute by minute totals show that Mississippi State can basically take a flier on someone with potential who is also very raw. By my estimates they basically played a 7 man rotation (starters averaged 30+ minutes per night.) SDSU played about a 10 man rotation.

I also noticed that SDSU sponsors more sports than Mississippi State, and probably has more student athletes as well.

To expand on my thought. The best players i have seen at SDSU were not tall, they were athletic.

    Melissa Pater
    Jen Werkentien (SP ?)
    Megan Vogel
    Maria Boever

None of these women were over 6'0". In my opinion, Anne Marie Brown is better then Atwal. I hope she fills the last spot.

I would rather have Anne Marie Brown. I hope that's what happens. Let's see how it plays out.

It's a long ways from home, but she's going to a great program from the SEC that was only four points away from making the Elite Eight. She will get a chance to prove herself going up against teams like Tennessee and LSU twice a year.

Thanks. I was just copying the name as spelled previously in the thread, perhaps I should have done a little checking.

You can read it here. I wonder who else made the all star team at the SDSU team camp?

According to this website she is a 5'-11" forward and ranked 8th in the state of Minnesota
TV just stated that he expects her (Mariah Clarin) to sign as well as Megan Stuart. He also said he thought Ann Marie Brown from St. Peter would fill the last spot.

Apiew Ojulou 6'2 from Lakeville North has committed to Marquette. Still think AnnMarie Brown from St Peter will committ if an offer is out there.

my bad. boy, thought i saw them both listed at 6'4" somewhere. guess always that chance of misprint lol. i had known of the paul's when i lived in madison (long time ago)---didn't surprise me they would have a girl that tall. that is, if it's the same paul's i am/was familiar with.

they just weren't sure either one are DI material. the one commented both would have to make huge strides this year. said neither one of them are really "offensive juggernauts". in their opinion, whatever level (if they choose to keep playing) either gal would probably be most effective defensively---just because of their height. on the point of "running the floor" and "footwork", they thought they were just "average". they werent' sure just what the goals of these two gals are, but, thought it will be interesting their sr. years---to see how much work they put in. the "potential" factor? guess it is almost always there with that kind of height---just how much is up to the gals themselves. my buddies just seem to think these gals would have to put in a lot of work if they wanted to make it to the next level.

just would be interesting to read any comments from others who might be familiar with these basketball players.
What year are these young ladies? Soph? Jr?
