  • WIU in Brookings, Sat. Feb. 9

The Showdown in the Summit, 2008.

This one may very well decide who wins the Summit League's regular season championship.

Frost needs to be filled to the rafters. Let's do this thing!

Those scores were in first half. Western leads 53-44 in the second half now. At home, I don't expect UMKC will stay with them in this half.

WIU 54, UMKC 46, less than 20 seconds left.

There will be two 9-2 teams playing in Frost Arena on Saturday night.

Time for everyone to get your Jackrabbit on and let the Westerwinds experience the full Frost Arena effect.

Its also alumni night for the men's BBall team, not sure about the women's. I will be spending the day in Brookings as I have to have my kids at Frost by 9 for the clinic. I think a large portion of my day may be spent in Cubbies. See you there.

I don't know what anybody else thinks, but so far the doubleheaders have been great fun. Good crowds and good games. I'm thinking we'll have a good crowd this weekend. The students were slow to arrive last night, but there was a respectable group of students there by the time the game got going. I hope the student section will be full on Saturday.

They will have a little added incentive (if there fence sitters), since the first 250 students in the door will get tickets to win two Ipods in a drawing. We definitely need a big night in attendance to get us through these two games. The women can take a huge jump towards a WNIT invitation and the men just might get a win if they get the support they need! GO JACKS!!

Hell or high water, I'm coming up with a couple of friends, one USD alum and another fence sitter. Ought to be a great night of BB. Encourage all you know to get out and back the Jacks.

I hope I can get up there. I haven't even been able to find time to comment on here much less drive up to Brookings for a game. The fact I can catch 2 games and need to pick up my truck will probably put me in Brookings Saturday night. Talked to Ketty's parents last night and the woman are ready to put on a show.

My two are on for the Men! Last year my son chickened out at the last second so we are hoping he makes it out there this time.
