Well Oregon beat Marquette tonight. The game was in Eugene, same place as our game with Oregon. Marquette was just barely outside the AP Top 25. This should increase our rankings in RPI. Now we have to beat G-DUB on Friday and So. Illinois Saturday to move a little closer to the Top 25.

    Go State!!!

Nah, I sent a grumpy e-mail reply to the e-mail from the Ticket office announcing the free webcasts, and cc'ed Fred O. instead.

Not sure why I should be happy about free webcasts when I've already paid to receive them . . .

Well that's all well and good except for the fact that I plunked down the $99 for the season of Jackrabbit Extra, I was driving all day to get to Brookings where I'll go to the football game and to the Mizzou WBB game on Sunday, so they've effectively given me NOTHING for screwing up their women's basketball audiocasts.

I may have to call that phone number . . .

Well it sounds like your voice was heard Propar80. They are going to broadcast the VB and WBB audio for free the next few games until they can straighten out these issues with the broadcast. Here is the GoJacks.com announcement.

Free audio available for volleyball, women's basketball broadcasts

Due to recent streaming-related issues, live audio broadcasts of South Dakota State University volleyball and women’s basketball events have been moved temporarily to the Brookings Radio site.

To access free broadcasts of this weekend’s Summit League volleyball tournament broadcasts and Sunday’s Jackrabbit women’s basketball game against Missouri, click here.

Once technical issues are resolved between Brookings Radio and web provider JumpTV (formerly XOS Technologies), broadcasts will return to the Jackrabbit Extra at GoJacks.com. Football and men’s basketball audio broadcasts, along with regularly scheduled video streaming, will remain available through the Jackrabbit Extra subscription service.

Following is a schedule of this weekend’s free audio events available through Brookings Radio:
    Friday, Nov. 16
    • Volleyball vs. Western Illinois (Summit League Semifinals), coverage begins at 3:40 p.m. Central Time
    Saturday, Nov. 17
    • Volleyball (Summit League Championship, if qualfied), coverage begins at 1:40 p.m. Central Time
    Sunday, Nov. 18
    • Women’s Basketball vs. Missouri, coverage begins at 1:40 p.m. Central Time

    Wow that was quick:

"I have forwarded this request to Jeff Young, VP of Operations at Jump TV
Sports and I do apologize for the troubles you are having.

I would encourage you to call the Jump TV Sports help desk at:
1-877-967-3375 and make sure they understand the details of your
    complaint"

At least there is someone we can call when there are problems.

    Go Jacks!!

That is no lie, I was at the Arkansas State game and she made some bombs! One of her three pointers was from 5 or 6 feet behind the line, nothing but net. It was fun to watch Coach Johnston just smile and shake his head.

Just sent an e-mail off to XOS in regards to the quality of their product in regards to last nights women's basketball game. I'm guessing I'll get the typical tech response that passes the blame to someone else.

Something with the Webcasting needs to change. I haven't bought the service yet, but why would I, if there are problems with it every game?

Here is a quote for the Oregon coach.

"I think the bottom line for us we got set back on our heels with their intensity, with their tempo," coach Bev Smith said. "They really took it to us."
The one thing about the Ladies team is that they play with intensity all the time and that always makes a good impression with the opposing coach. I read a lot of press clippings about this team and the coaches usually comment on our intensity.

Here is a quote from Rotert

"If we put more ball pressure on them, it's harder for them to get the ball in the post and they're obviously a little bigger than us so we had to pressure them as much as we could," Rotert said.
She sounds like an upper-classman, she has only played 3 games and can really stretch the defense with her 3 point shooting. With all the post players hurt for SDSU, 3 point shooting and defense for the guards was key to this win.

Bring on the University of Missouri Tigers.

    Go State!!!
