Yes to both of these. Neither team has any big signature wins (K state definitely does not count).

I'm sure NDSU was sluggish partially due to illness but we just were the more aggressive team last night. Brooklyn was Brooklyn but Mathiowetz turned it up another notch even higher than she already has before. Our other players also just looked way more confident last night. The defensive plays to get us going in transition were huge. Peaking at the right time.

This year the WBIT is sponsored by the NCAA. It will likely have choice of the 32 teams prior to the WNIT. The NCAA is trying to deflate the WNIT.

Jory Collins is a very unlikeable guy. Take your L dude...you got your ass handed to you in front of your largest crowd ever. Can't wait until Summit Sunday when we get to watch A.J. coach circles around him...again.

Yeah his press conference at the end was nothing beyond they were ill and "that's not their team". I'm sure that's true to some extent but that's classless and I doubt every player was ill. We are down a starter and have other starters walking around in boots when not on the court. No team is 100% at this point in the year. He was this way in seasons prior too after losses. Anyway, our team is peaking and gaining confidence at the right time.

I think you can tell a lot about a person based on their reactions to defeat.

I might be an asshole too if I continued to get my ass handed to me time after time by the same team.

I'm going to take those postgame comments as valuable intelligence. Afterall, we gave them a smackdown on their own court. Were they or were they not getting hit with the cold or whatever he alluded to? Something that will change moving forward. I guess time will tell and we will have to see what to make of these comments once things are resolved.

IMO we will go as far as MM takes us. BM will do her thing but MM needs to be aggressive and shoot the ball. We won't win the tournament with her making great passes.

I never got the whole MADISON IS NOT BEING AGGRESSIVE ENOUGH message but I do now see it. She has somehow elevated her game further and is doing so successfully.

I am AMAZED every day that anyone could score 3700+ points in high school and be so UNBELIEVABLY unselfish!!! I literally cringe a bit when i see another perimeter player get off to a bit of a good start because I know that means Maddie is going to be content letting them have the shots

for instance the game where Fox had the seven 3s. it was Maddie who basically won the game in the first Q. If my memory is decent, I believe she had 14 points and did not miss a shot in the first Q of that game and basically told the other team forget about it.

after that we had a double digit lead and there was not another shot taken under pressure all day. other people started making shots and MM took her foot way way off the gas

we are very much in agreement Justwin!! you may have noticed that last night I noted I am hoping that MM starts thinking a lot lot more about scoring and quite a bit less about passing. there are a LOT of times in a game where we need her to KEEP the ball!!

I loved Madi's answer to the question about her sister going to Fargo at about 1:30 in this short youtube clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tF-bSznj5D0

I thought the same! Richman is a little brighter though.

I was at the NDSU v UST game this evening. St. Thomas just had one of those nights and the Bison didn't know what to do about it. I'm going to make a few more comments in the Summit League thread.

i did not see any of the bison game or post game. am I correct in guessing that you are saying Richman is brighter because he did not whine after the game? I have commented about this before. it is a GREAT surprise to me that the same athletic department hired both Richman and Collins. Richman, in my view, coaches the game correctly and carries himself with class. Collins, in my view, exactly opposite. i could surely be wrong and / or maybe have forgotten something, but I cannot recall any time when I thought Jory behaved in a classy way.

I think I have handed out compliments here to enough of our opponents INCLUDING many associated with ndsu, that it cannot be assumed that I am just a blue and yellow colored glasses RABID Jacks fan who will automatically talk garbage about anything / everything bison, and I am not trying to TRASH Jory either. simply, I have a lot of respect for Coach Richman and Jory has never behaved in a remotely similar way and definitely does not get the same respect from me
