Is AJ trying to get Meyer player of the week/year? Starters in up 50 with 7 minutes left. I know they lost to NDSU but does this really make them more ready for the next match up?
Bench is in with 3:42 minutes left up 48.

Brooklyn played 26 and MM played 24. As 98 said earlier, UND was without their best player. Not that it matters but ndsu starters were in 11 total minutes longer in a similar victory over omaha

Nice message sent following that NDSU loss.

If they don't go to Fargo and win with Brooklyn having a dominant performance Avery Koenan will be the POY.

Having the extra day as opposed to the regular Thursday-Saturday might have kept the starters in a bit longer.

on a similar note, 73alum brought up the quick turnaround re the NDSU game. Gaskins asked AJ about scheduling last week.

Did some digging on what things look like for the top 4 teams this year. This is just the current top 4 playing the other top 3 on short rest.
USD seems to get the short end of the stick having to play NDSUx2 on 1 day rest and then SDSU on 1 day rest. Wonder how those things work out year-to-year. Maybe not fair to cater to the top teams but at the end of the day all conferences probably want to put their best foot forward come Selection Sunday. Curious on injuries from 2 days to 3. Ivy league does back to back on weekends b/c academics

SDSU played NDSU on short rest and will play USD on short rest (game after @ NDSU game). SDSU has 4 total short rest games in regular season conf play. NDSU plays ORU on short rest and will play USD on short rest. NDSU plays 6 short rest games. ORU played SDSU on short rest and will play NDSU on short rest. SDSU only played on short rest twice**

Happy hour quote youtube timestamp -- AJ Thoughts on Scheduling / 2 or 3 days rest
John: How do you feel mirror scheduling non mirror scheduling the Wednesday Saturday thing versus the Thursday Saturday thing? Do you have any strong feelings on how you guys are generally scheduled throughout the Summit League slate and if you prefer it to be any different?

AJ: Yeah, I mean I do. I'm not a big travel partner person. I don't feel like that's a major asset. If I were on the edge of our conference and I were traveling further, I could have a different opinion on that. So part of my opinion is where we're located probably what works for us. So when you get away from travel partners, you kind of get away from the idea of needing to play Thursday, Saturday or Friday, Sunday or whatever it might be. At least if you have travel partners and you have kind of an even conference, nine teams, 11 teams, that doesn't work very great with travel partners, which is what we're in right now. So now you kind of they're kind of trying to put some travel partners together. So when teams like Oral Roberts last week, they came up and played South Dakota and South Dakota State. When we go to Oral Roberts, we'll play Oral Roberts and Denver so we're not making two trips. So they're kind of doing a hybrid travel partners now, but also some one-offs and and so you don't really have a specific day of the week that you're always playing on.

But what it runs into the way we're doing it now is you just have these weird splits where last week we had one game with Oral Roberts and Oral Roberts had to play Thursday, Saturday. I don't think anybody should do that. I think there should always be two days in between games, especially if someone's only got one game that week. I don't think things even out over the end of the year because all of those weeks for each team are different based on who they play, based on are they on the road, are they at home. There are clear advantages and disadvantages baked into this schedule the way we do it. Now, I don't worry about it. I don't sleep about it. We probably come out ahead some and behind in others.

But no, I don't really like the travel partners because I like more time to prepare, more time to give our team a little rest. Like let's say we played Wednesday, Saturday. We've done that before and sometimes we'll take Thursday off. It doesn't mean that we need two full days to practice. Maybe we just need a little more rest. Always kind of forcing a group to play on like a Thursday, Saturday - it's just harder. I mean, there's a lot that these players go through all year. We practice a lot. We play a lot. Our season is incredibly long. Having a little more rest, recovery, prep time in between games is good for everybody. The concern is it just probably costs a little bit more because of some travel. Not significantly to be honest with you, unless you're flying all the time, but for most schools it's pretty marginal what the cost difference would be, so we'll see. That's my opinion, but there are others in the conference that like travel partners, absolutely. It doesn't mean everybody has to agree with my thoughts. Some of them really like it and right would lean that way, but I don't. I I want the quality of games to be really good. I want the days of the week to be good where fans can come and watch and play. I don't like playing on the same nights that our men play all the time because I don't think that's really productive. We might not be able to avoid it all the time, but we should avoid it at least some. I want to build fan bases and I want our games to be quality games. That's kind of my thoughts and scheduling.

next question John asked was about doubleheaders

I wonder how that is determined. Does the home team get any input if they want Wednesday or Thursday ?

the playing on one day rest brings up problems that AJ pointed out in his answer, but having to play on one day is not automatically an advantage for one team. the advantage comes like it did last week when one team NDSU has a full week off and one team the Jacks has had one day since the last game

the same thing happened to ORU in Brookings the week before

THAT seems like the thing the league should STOP. the league has a pretty clear top 4 teams with probably a clear top two inside of the 4. it feels like it should be possible that when those 2-4 teams play each other the league should not put one team at a disadvantage because of scheduling.

it seems that it would fairly obviously be in the best interest of the league to have the best teams playing at the top of their game in the biggest matchups of the season

She was in a boot , so likely something foot/ankle related.

Has there been any sightings of KV & Fox wearing the boots outside of the arena? KV seems to have not found the timing for her passing game. She had 5 turnovers against the bison. She did not take but 2 shots in Grand Forks after scoring well against the bison. She is likely fine and she will become more consistent as the season wears on. The game Saturday in KC may illustrate some of the conversation of the extra day for prep and rest.
