Update: Of our 4 losses, 1 was to a tournament team, 1 to an Elite 8 team, and 2 to Final 4 teams.

Not sure Duke can beat SC today but if Bueckers keeps playing like this, we very well may have had our season ended by the national champs. Not a bad resume at all.

Congratulations Jackrabbit WBB team. Thanks to the seniors who maintained a great tradition for this program. It is a rare mid major that finds a slot consistently in post season play. I look forward to supporting another great bunch of young women student athletes next season.

I could see not counting the mt west because they have some heavier weight schools in that conference. They look more like a weak major conference than anything imo.

Yes… At this point, I hope they do take it all and I think the team feels like they have something to prove. The jacks don’t have to feel like they faltered in this game. UConn seated numerous teams this year by 31 to 35 points. They also beat Xavier by 54 and Seton hall by 60 and also Arkansas St. by 69. And here’s another big one… They beat South Carolina by 29.

UConn was impressive last night to say the least. This is the first time in years that they have been healthy at tournament time. My thought is that they are going to show the country that they are still the premier program ahead of South Caroline. Frankly, I hope they do.

I kept thinking as the game went on that this is how our Summit League opponents must feel when they play us.

What a fantastic year for SDSU WBB! They were incredible on the court and maybe even more impressive off the court. The four seniors have left a permanent mark on an already great program. Paige Meyer will go down as one of the best to ever wear a Jacks uniform. They have been a pleasure to cheer for.

The future is also bright with some talented young players, redshirts that will get their chance, and another strong recruiting class.

    SUPERBUNNY

That level of talent and effort is unmatched and will probably lead to another national championship for them. We need to forget parts of tonight and celebrate and cherish how special this group of Jackrabbits is.
i guess I cannot speak to comparisons to every 2 seed in history
I can say that the Oregon team we lost to in the sweet 16 was also a 2 seed. my first reaction is that the OU team was better. they had WAYYYY more size than this UConn team and I guess most people would say that Buekers is not as good as Sabrina Ionescu. in my mind they are pretty close and I might even lean slightly to Paige B, but overall, I take the OU team and the 5 first round draft picks

that said, I said immediately they should have NEVER NEVER been a 2 seed. also if we had been properly seeded as a 7 we would not have been the worst 7 and therefore would not have been matched with the best 2.

this UConn team is historically good PERIOD.

but we DID beat them on the boards 33- 25
we also beat them on the O Boards 11 - 8

I think that is not nothing!!
UConn was the only team in the country to shoot over 50% from the field. becasue of the excellent offense, they are underrated on defense. MANY MANY MANY players who are as long and athletic as this get lazy on defense and they think they can get by on physical ability

this UConn team has the physical ability, but they also play fundamentally correct!! that is what makes the margin for error so small. cuts have to be quicker and more precise. passes have to be quicker and more precise.

UConn D and Paige B were the big keys. our turnovers were a KILLER

sometimes you can do a lot of things VERY VERY WELL but you just play a better team

I think this UConn team probably is one of the rare teams that is a different level. we have played

good teams (Creighton this year would be that type of team) often over the years and done very well. We have also played against some great teams-

we lost to a great Baylor team when Macy was either a junior or a senior, in a very close game. I know there have been several others, but that is the first example that comes to mind.

and we have played some teams that are on another level, some all time elite teams- the South Carolina teams we have played the last couple years. this UConn team tonight. I think the Oregon team that we played twice in the 2018-19 season, I think is probably the best team

even among teams rated in the top ten ( we have played quite a few top ten teams over the years ) there are some rare teams that stand out, that are a step beyond great. this team has two former high school national POY. they also have the curent Freshman of the year. beyond all of that, Paige B is one of the most legendary players in NCAA WBB history

my feeling is that even getting to play this team again, we would be better adjusted to playing that level of talent. there are things that you can get away with vs many many teams that you simply cannot do vs a team with this level of elite talent.

the fact that they doubled and even brought 3 and 4 players at Brooklyn when she touched the ball tells you how good Brooklyn is!! I believe if we had another shot, we realize that player movement needs to be sharper and quicker. passes need to be sharper. it is NOT that hard to get open for an inbound pass, BUT most teams let you get away with making much lazier cuts and passes. that does not work against a team this long and athletic when they also play fundamentally sound

with the way they guarded Brooklyn, IF we made better passes into the post and better passes out, we would have found some good opportunities to take advantage of all their help in the post

overall I think the big thing is hats off to Uconn for being VERY talented but also playing the game very well and executing at an elite level on both ends of the floor!! our team should not be ashamed in any way. we came out and proved immediately that UConn would have to take us seriously.

    unfortunately, THEY DID
