I find it hard to believe there is 47 teams in the country better than the Jacks, and I'm guessing no 4/5 seed wants to see us in the first round.
There is no way we are 12 seed if we don't lose another game. We have zero bad losses and several good wins. Charlies Creme is about as clueless with his women's bracketology as you can get.

Every team we've lost to in in the NCAA tournament. My guess is we will be somewhere between 7-10 if we win out.

Agreed. I always take Charlie’s stuff with a healthy dose of skepticism. I’m not sure ESPN has ever been correct in their prediction for us in terms of seed or location.

Yes, I think there is consideration given for health of the team. If you have time, click on the link I gave for you to read and verify. But I'm pretty sure where I saw that listed as one of the things they evaluate. That alone should give us a big boost from who we were early in the season ( by the way, that's also listed ,evaluate a team early season and late season, a comparison ) .

Creighton almost beat UConn last night. That would’ve really helped our NET. Oh well. Speaking of Nebraska, Amy Williams will likely miss out on another NCAA tourney. Huskers lost to the Gophers last night which is not good. She has really underwhelmed the fans in Lincoln more often than not.

Wonder if Markowski has any regrets (of course i felt like she would when she made that decision)

she gets to play in hometown and state, if either of those were important for her??
gets to play a big 10 schedule, but really is the huskers schedule this year better than the jacks?

she is definitely gonna lose a heckuva lot more games in her career, and probably play less post season games with less chance for postseason success

on a semi related note, i give Coach Findlay a lot of credit for scheduling games with the jacks. it sure seems like the gophers, hawkeyes, and huskers want NOTHING to do with scheduling the jacks

personally, if we cannot move up to at least a 6 seed (do NOT see that happening. could it be if you took out the MSU loss? probably not even then and obviously that L is not going anywhere), i would just as soon be an 11 or 12. 7-10 seeds have to play a 1 or a 2 seed to make the sweet sixteen (unless the rarity of a 1 or 2 losing in the first round happens).

To me, I see two scenario's to hope for, best pod to be in for getting to a sweet 16 game, and which pod gives you the chance to get beyond the sweet 16 and on to the elite 8 game. Best pod for the former in my opinion is the 12/5,4/11 pod. A little harder but with the best chance to accomplish the latter is the 11/6, 3/14 pod. In the 11/6, 3/14 pod, if you make it through, you avoid playing a #1 seed IN the sweet 16 game, you'd be playing a #2 seed instead (theoretically). At that point , if you are so fortunate, there's no avoiding the #1 seed or anyone good enough to have beaten them in an elite 8 game. You're talking playing top 25 teams in any event, except rd 1, even rd 1 games can be quite challenging like when we played Quinnipiac.

Don't look now, but we just jumped up 7 spots in the NET, now sitting at 37. Having a long winning streak works wonders.

That’s a significant jump indeed. I think if we can get into the mid/upper 30’s we could land a 7-8 seed. I don’t think Charlie Creme has paid any attention to how we have done the last few months. That high NET rating will also help us if God forbid we need an at-large.

A nine or eight is the kiss of death, about the most direct path to playing the #1 seed there is save for the 64th seeded team in the tournament # 16 vs #1 seed overall in the tournament (South Carolina} at worst ,at best a #2, 3 or 4 top 25 team, also #1 seeds, I think we were the 10th seed in 2008-09 when we beat #7 TCU, then had to face #2 seed Baylor, who we lost to literally in the last few seconds on a full length sprint down the court lay in for near miss #1. Near miss # 2 was beating Miami , a # 5 seed, then facing Stanford in heart-breaker #2, also losing by 1 pt in the last second on a bucket, with no time left on the clock to respond. We must have been the #12 seed , because I remember a member of the press referred to us as a twelve seed and was immediately corrected by coach Tara Vanderveer who said "SDSU is a five seed, they beat Miami so they are a five seed". I agree, it will better our chances to get an at-large, but there's no guarantee given there are so few spots and so many good teams competing for them. I'd rather not have to worry about it and nab the AQ in the SLT, of course.

I know weird things happen in a tournament but there is no other team in the SL that even comes close to having tournament credentials...........so if we can't beat them do we deserve an AL bid. I'm glad we won't have to worry about it.

I don't think I could stand certain Yote fans, not all, snickering and mocking if we didn't capture the SLT crown. Glad we won't have to also.
