  • SLT: ORU

I'd be just fine with a stress-free 20 point win today. I don't know if ORU's mountain of health issues have improved. They were a shadow of the team that did some early season damage. Any reports?

Take care of business, get used to the scene and get on to a huge matchup with IUPUI.

The last 2 box scores show one of the Beatty sisters and Gilbert played. Those 2 missed the Brookings game.

This year is like playing back to back Championship games compared to years past...get by ORU today and hope we have two of the best games of the season there after. This is what they've been preparing for all year, I'm confident they'll step it up and accomplish their goals they've set for themselves. ORU will play hard, as well as the survivors of the tournament as it proceeds along. Strap yourself in,we might be in for a wild ride to the finish line.Beer is a neccessity, to celebrate the joy or drown your sorrows, magically, it works for both.

ORU playing with a ton of intensity on defense right now. This is going to be a dogfight.

It's the small things that accumulate over the course of a game that doom teams and set them up to 'have to" make the big plays. The missed layups, failure to secure rebounds, silly travels,to's in general. It's common to all the Summit teams, but you get to higher level games,it really becomes more pronounced the harder they try and the further behind they get to teams who take care of the ball and play composed. The more possessions, the more chances, and the less you have to rely on shooting at a very high percentage to win, being efficient ...pretty simple.ORU to their credit is playing incredibly hard on defense, and we aren't real sure how to handle that....yet.The defense you face does effect rushing things on offense though,we'll move the ball, penetrate better the 2nd half as we figure it out a little better 27-25 ORU.....27-27 at half(update)

27 all at the half. Anyone know what the hold up was? Did the clock not start on the inbounds?

Yep, clock didn't start. Looks like they just counted the basket and called it a half.

                  Re: SLT: ORU

Refs had a stop watch running during replay. Determined the game clock had not started on time, basket was good and time ran out (likely as ball in the air)

I'm at the game. Our crowd apparently keeping its powder dry for the second half. Didn't start making noise until about a minute left in the half.

We better get it together or well be watching with USD women and NDSU men.

Jacks 11 turnovers certainly aren't helping but ORU is playing some tough defense. We'll see if they can keep that intensity going.

Yeah. The cheerleader thing early on felt very awkward as well because the crowd participation was zilch.

There's been lots of games this season where we could of added 10-15 more pts to our score if we'd of learned to become more efficient, that's kind of worried me a little,it's showing up now again when you least want it to.Hopefully we can handle their high intensity defense a little better the 2nd half.We can still win this going away, but the longer it stays close ,the more anything can happen.

ORU giving Alexander a ton of room on the perimeter almost daring her to shoot. She hasn't been close when she has.
