I watched last night and am tuned into the championship game now. I definitely can see the "smoothness" that jackedforlife mentioned. She knows how to get to the rim and has very nice touch on the ball. She looks right at home on that Frost Arena court too - lots of points to come there. Just now she got a big block and then ran down and hit a buzzer-beater at the end of the first quarter. That shot broke the tournament scoring record.

btw Mitchell won 61-48. Play SF Washington tomorrow for the title.

Only a few points back for most points scored in championship rounds of AA girls tournament set back in 1981. She almost set it in 2 games

Not a surprise, her stats on the season are eye-popping. Guessing she will be a huge contributor next year.

Per a Stu Whitney tweet , Macy Miller has been named the Gatorade High School Player of the Year for South Dakota.

The Kaitlyn Severyn era came to an end for the Lady Govs as Spearfish beat them in an elimination game 47-39. Severyn has been playing varsity since an eighth grader but has never made it to the State AA tournament. She does finish her career as the all time leading rebounder for the Lady Govs and third on the all time scoring list.

We will have the opportunity to observe just about all our South Dakota recruits this year in the various State Tournaments.Pierre has to beat Spearfish for us to see Severyn (2014) and Palmer (2015).Megan Bultsma,Mt Vernon/Plankington plays in the State 'A' in Spearfish(2016 class).Macy Miller (2014) for Mitchell and Jessica Mieras (2015) for OG play the State 'AA' in Frost Arena in Brookings,and Chloe Lamb (2017) will play for Sully Buttes in the class 'B' in the Huron Arena.

All games,regardless of class, played Mar 13,14,15

Anybody know how our other recruit, Kaitlyn Severyn, performed? Or how she has progressed this winter?

Zero points! Very athletic. Quick, good passer, decent defender. Helluva rebounder. Needs work on her shot!!
