Glanzer pitching well, and Jacks retire 'Backs' first three batters in top of first.

They kept bringing up we first went Div 1 in 2005 was it? Although this is true, but for the first 4 yrs in transition we were ineligible to compete in any NCAA Tournaments. There's no doubt in my mind we could have went to the NCAA Tournament in WBB in 2007-2008 season, after all, we won the Conference that year pretty easily and would have been heavy favorites to win the Conference tournament auto-bid. But we had to abide by NCAA transition rules, kind of disappointed we were held back some, but rules are rules.Last edited by jackdaniel; 05-21-2021, 10:57 PM.

Love that the young Jacks showed absolutely no fear in their first NCAA game ever.

Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak TREE, they put a smacking on the Cardinal, I love a great hitting team, great defense, pitching, confidence galore, they should be able to ride this horse a long way, the distance? Who knows. Keep it up Jacks, light the afterburners, take off and leave em behind.Last edited by jackdaniel; 05-21-2021, 10:53 PM.

If you all aren’t watching the NCAA tourney game on ESPN3 right now you’re missing out. Jacks are stomping Stanford. What a tourney debut!

Very Impressive. If the pitching is on, they can make a little noise in the tournament.
Another NCAA Tourney appearance for Jackrabbit sports. They continue to pile them on.
Great job Jacks softball!

The team also has played far fewer games than a normal year. Many of those records would have been smashed if playing a normal amount of games.

I'm sure most are aware by now, but the softball team is having the best season in school history. Several SDSU single-season records are going to be broken and I figured I'd highlight a few of them. 4 regular season games vs. NDSU remain, as well as the SL tournament and the NCAA championship.
Batting Average: Single season record is .461. Emma Osmundson (.419) and Jocelyn Carrillo (.414) are on pace to finish 2nd and 3rd respectively in SDSU history.
Slugging Percentage: Record is .725. Cylie Halvorson (.792) and Jocelyn Carrillo (.768) should easily pass that record.
On base percentage: Record is .500. Again, Emma Osmundson (.508) and Jocelyn Carrillo (.500) are on pace to break that record.
Triples: Record is 6. Emma Osmundson (5), Jocelyn Carrillo (4), Lindsey Culver (4), and Allison Yoder (4) will all finish the season in the top 10, with a chance to break into the top 3.
Home runs: Record is 16. Cylie Halvorson has 15 on the season. I can pretty confidently say she'll tie the record, with a good chance to break the record.
RBIs: Record is 61. Cylie Halvorson has 48 on the season. Unlikely she'll break the record, but would be surprised if she didn't finish 2nd all time (50).
Batting average against: Record is .183. Tori Kneische should easily beat that record (.144) and Grace Glanzer should finish top 3 (.196)
Strikeouts per game: Record is 8.9. Tori Kneische should finish top 2 all time with 8 per game currently
This program has improved every year since Krista Wood was hired. This team is incredibly young, talented, and will be even better in the coming years. It's been really awesome going from watching some of these players as teenagers transition into top-tier Summit League players. P.S...WestSide, i'm still willing to be the softball writer on JI.

SDSU outscores Creighton 20-2 in a two-game sweep today. SDSU breaks the school record for HRs in a season with 55 and counting. In game two, Tori Kneische threw ANOTHER NO-HITTER, her second and the Jackrabbits' third of the season.
