Interesting-- I would have guessed close to 2,000 although the upper levels were empty. I was over with all the Seneca people. Quite a turnout there.

Going to be a real dogfight to make the tourney now. I don't know if I agree with taking AC out there in the last 3 minutes.

Having seen my first live Jacks game since 1968, I was thoroughly confused by that move-- Cordova was clearly the impact player at that point... bizarre.

Disappointed, but will not wait until 2050 to see another one.

I realize it's natural to focus on the last shot because it's the defining moment in the game, but there was plenty of other missed shots,turnovers , bad defense , that imo were just as defining.

I wouldn't bet on the Jacks in Fargo, but I wouldn't bet against them anywhere else.

I realize it's natural to focus on the last shot because it's the defining moment in the game, but there was plenty of other missed shots,turnovers , bad defense , that imo were just as defining.

curious about the game attendance. Did anyone hear? At the start of steve i's broadcast, he noted the crowd was about 50% sdsu fans.

i would say since it has happened SO many times this season, that we lose it at the end.
50% the players fault
50% the coaches fault
we could be at the top of the Summit if we win some of these games, but instead we're in the middle/towards the bottom.
some of it is nagy's fault. teach the team to be smart and take good shots and rebound at the end of games and not turn the ball over. i'm sure he's trying , but when we lose it at the end all the time, you have to try harder and do something different.

We can still finish the season strong Jacks!

Umm you think maybe it's the players fault for not executing?? Nope, let's always blame the coach for everything. He's not out there and probably has drilled in late game scenarios but when the players dont execute its the coach's fault

I think this one is squarely on the players. They had a lead and didn't execute well enough to make the lead hold up. And then, they had the ball, the clock, and the game tied and they didn't execute well enough to score in the last possession.

There's no defense against a last-second desperation half-court shot, except by being ahead by enough so when it happens it doesn't beat you.

How do YOU account for the same scenario game after game after game...a lead...a couple of minutes left...lose the lead...need "luck" to win...lose...a-g-a-i-n. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Why does it get to the point that we need "luck" to win? The half court shot isn't the issue...seeing the same game alllllll the time IS the thing.

we are young. they need to get that first road win to have confidence that they can win on the road. blaming the coach is dumb. i know youve been doing it all year but get over it. i still think we'll get to the tourney in sf. and if we get there, we can do some damage. if you want to think negative, thats your choice. nagy is still my coach for next year.

Thats why he called the time out before the free throw was even shot?? What part of that don't you understand, the time out was called

actually, not true; and we only need to return to the championship game of the NCAA tournament last year. Digger Phelps and Bob Knight are still arguing about what happened.

here's one account, exact same situation, free throws with, if I remember right, about 10 seconds left.

What happened next led to a heated debate between Bobby Knight, Digger Phelps, Dick Vitale and Jay Bilas on ESPN after the game. Memphis did not call a timeout, Collins raced down court with the ball, almost lost it and then passed to Chalmers, who drained the tying three pointer with 2.1 seconds left. Memphis again eschewed calling a timeout and Robert Dozier missed a shot from half court as time expired. Bilas adamantly insisted that Memphis Coach John Calipari should have called a timeout after the second free throw to make sure that his players committed a foul once the clock got below five seconds; Bilas added that Calipari should have called a timeout after Chalmers' shot to try to set up a good inbounds play. No one disputed what Bilas said about calling a timeout after Chalmers' shot but Phelps maintained that no timeout was necessary after the free throws because teams work on late game fouling situations in practice all the time. Vitale said that with a championship on the line you can't take a chance about whether or not the players know what they are supposed to do. Knight agreed with Vitale and Bilas, adding that he would have called a timeout and told each player exactly who he was going to guard and what his responsibilities were in different situations. Phelps reiterated his original argument but Knight answered that they could sit there until Christmas and he would not change his mind, which pretty much ended the discussion.

As usual you drop by to stir the pot. BTW, the Jacks were in a timeout with about 30 seconds left ,i think. They had the ball and ran the clock down for a shot. It didn't go and they got beat by a half-court shot.

How is that a coaching problem?
