tuff loss, though i have to say that last year this team would of packed it in and lost by 25+ i'm glad to see they didn't give up.... foul trouble with our depth killed us.... Cassaday had a great night hopefully he is alright....
Our young guys are working their butts off and want to win. Just need the leadership to push us over .500. Kai is MIA this year, hope he can get his head in this, we need him. He plays like last year and we win this game.

I think we played as Coach Nagy said a little tight, and ORU played us rather lose and we allowed Jarvis to get his game going. I think too, we are just a step slow at times and it seem to get Clint Sargent player control fouls that should not happened. Our over all quickness is not there when we play a talent teams like ORU.
I dont doubt Coach Nagy in his comment about looking at the game tape and seeing what areas that need to improve. We still have a great deal of improvement ahead of us. Hope is still there though.
Jarvis is a punk. Now I remember ORU from last year. The team is full of whiners. Jarvis should have been hit with a technical foul in the first half. He ran down the court and threw both arms into Clint's chest and no foul was called. He jawed with the refs on every foul call.
Clint and Kai were taken out of the game in the first half by the officials. HORRIBLE!!! How some of the fouls were even called and the no-calls were let go was amazing. Some of those shots ORU was throwing up was trash too.
I thought Coach Nagy tried to get Kai started in the second half by running two plays for him. I don't know if some of those really bad charging calls "scared" Kai from wanting to drive or what.
Glad to see more fans were at the game tonight.
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--
ORU at times was shooting unbelievably hot ... hard to beat any team hitting in the low 60 percentile for long stretches. And they got those shots off fast, particularly Jarvis but other players, too.
We saw a good visiting ball club.
I know some people get a little ticked off when a post suggests we did some thing right in a losing effort; but, we did some things right in a losing effort. As Nidaros said, there's still hope and I think much reason for hope. This Jackrabbit team is showing more pluck than the past few years. Sure, it ain't perfect but we starting to see it come together. They will win games this year that last year we couldn't win.
Part of the promise of the DI move was bringing teams like ORU to Frost for some good basketball. I hope the people start realizing that these are good teams and it would be nice to fill the place in again.
Post game highlight: met filbert in person! and Snookums too. She actually has a real name and is proof positive of something I've contended for years: most guys marry up (here's a couple guys introducing themselves by names like JackJD and filbert while our wives give each other knowing looks)
With this game, I officially declare that I'm off the panic watch. This weekend has shown that the team is FINALLY beginning to move in a positive direction.
There are still issues--Williams' inexplicable vanishing act as a productive player, for instance. But there's now enough other talent on the floor for the Jacks to almost--almost--overcome that. And by all reports, that situation will improve even more with Griffin Callahan's eligibility after the fall semester.

12/21/08 at UNI is the first game Griffan is elgible to play in. Spoke to to the Callahan brothers after the game.
Its a detail of the game maybe or maybe not. I liked the few quality minutes that Engen gave us. He was in paint fighting for rebounds and also got a couple of buckets. If he continues to improve, I would think he would be getting more minutes. That can only be good for Mark and the team.
Also the mention that Griffian Callalhan can play on Dec 21, still gives me hope. It will make us one player deeper. Its really frustrated to see six guys in warmup suits sitting on the end of the bench. A real waste of man power, but I know the reasons why they are sitting there and not playing on the floor.
I was reading Mike McFeeley's column over on the Fargo Forum. ORU has a 6-9 guy that becomes eliglible on the same day as Griff, and McFeeley was saying in his column, nice win Bison, but ORU will be different the next time around.
I felt for a few moments that SDSU would take ORU, as this team is like McFeeley says very inexperienced. ORU lost a number of their roster, so we had our chances against a very good team. Also I read in the game program, that SDSU beat ORU in 1968. I was in the military overseas so dont recall that game at all.
