    Re: Utah State

It was still another close defeat and I'm like everyone that is getting fed up with them!

I did feel that for stretches last night, SDSU looked better than they had for three years. That run that they went on to start the second half was outstanding! You can say Utah State was flat but I like to think it was our defense and effort that made the difference there. Utah State did wake up and finish the game strong and we went very flat for the last few minutes. My big concern is we need to find some offense outside of Caddy!

It felt like the game was over at halftime because we were dominated in fg%, rebounds, and turnovers, but hats off for a great rally! Utah State appeared to be a very solid team that did have a falt night but turned it up when they had to!

Nagy commented how it was rough to have played so many games in a short stretch which may have led to the flatness down the stretch.

THESE GUYS ARE GROWING OUT THERE AND THEY ARE SHOWING IMPROVEMENT EVERY GAME!

    SUPERBUNNY
    MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, BIZUN!!!

Kai's a talented kid.  If we had more big men I'm sure he'd be playing where he should.  But right now the team needs him most at the 4 spot, Londy at the 5, Andy at the 3, Caddy at the 2.  Andy's natural position is the 2 and Loney is probably a 4 so everybody is playing a little out of position right now.  We might see a lot of that this year.  I'm sure he's frustrated playing out of position and not performing like he wants to but like Nagy said, it's not gonna last forever.

Oh, and glad to have Kai down here in sunny South Dakota!  I hope you and your family can make a trip down and catch a few games this year...

We will be down for the Montana Game and then he will drive home with us for 3 days , to celebrate the "HOLIDAY SEASON" he fly's back on the 26th.

Then in January we are going to be down for the 4 games that are scheduled towards the end of the month.

We were down there already for one of the exhibition games and we really enjoyed the game and the atmosphere of Frost Arena. We are pleased Kai is settled in down there I know you will take care of my boy for me.

Well, I didn't listen to the game, and when I saw the score scroll across the bottom on espn I was dissappointed.

But coming, and reading what happened here...it's not so bad.

We fell behind a good team, by double digits, in the first half, and did not fold.

The team responded and fought back, and actually took the lead. Yes, they didn't finish, and I agree that is frustrating.

I think we are seeing some actual growth here. The team seems to be coming together.

Does anyone know where Cam was last night. He was certainly not on the bench and I thought maybe he was out ill and it was addressed in the pre-game?

              Re: Utah State

I was at the game and it was obvious to me that when Cadwell was off the floor with 4 fouls the offense absolutely lost direction. Callahan is progressing but will need a bit more time to give us the 1-2 punch we need with Matt. The real key in the game was the total lack of rebounding in the first half! We made our move in the second half when they hit the boards. Overall not a bad effort. We are coming.

              Couple other notes:
To much on the "more cow bell" video. Its been overdone and isnt funny, cute or inspiring. Once a game would be plenty.

Thought the "Cheers" video was good. Once a game, only when a rally is needed.

There is a great clip in Animal House where Belushi rallys the troops, "when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor...." saw that at a MLB game to rally the crowd. Could be used at Frost.

Last comment, Nagy indicated that being an independent makes it difficult to get home games in November and December. I dont see how that will change in the Mid Con since those games will be in Jan. and Feb. We will still be searching for non conference games in Nov. and Dec. and it will still be difficult to get home games during that time frame.

The word on the street is that Cam informed the coaches on Tuesday that he is transferring out of the program.

                  Re: Utah State

You could see the deer in the headlights look of our young freshman when Cadwell went out on a questionable charging call. Our offense had absolutley no flow and we looked lost in the closing minutes after building a 6 point lead. Many of the players seemed tired and had no lift in their legs as evidenced by the number of easy close shots we missed. I too think Casey does the best job of our guards of attacking the defense and distributing the ball. He plays controlled yet fearless.

Given what's happened over last season and lack of PT this year, this doesn't surprise me.

I agree but considering he's only 8 games into the RS Freshman season I don't think he gave us a fair chance. But since he wasn't playing much I don't know how much we are going to miss him. I think his knack was that he wasn't very strong on the defensive side of the ball. Regardless, this just frees up one more scholarship for a potentially better player.

It is always hard to lose players though...experience, even in practice, goes a long way.

Its frustrating to lose players after a redshirt season. Loney Redshirted, and now look what he's done with hard work and dedication going into his Junior year.

This does free up a scholarship though, I hope Nagy finds a JUCO PF or center for next season with it. We have another two freshman guards coming in, a JUCO on the front lines would help us more than anything else right now. All the guy needs to do is be able to rebound.

I believe that clip was used Monday at Frost, if I remember correctly.

I think it has less to do with playing time and more to do with last season. PT could have been a tipping point though. I agree, it is frustrating.

What happened with Cam last season? Are you guys referring to what happened with dre and mo?
Whatever the reason, I thought I remembered Coach Nagy saying last year that Cam was probally the best shooter on the team, we could have used that last night in the closing minutes when utah state switched to a zone defense and nobody could score against it.
