It is not difficult to root for every opponent of the tommies in the future. Every opponent. The replay people stopped showing replays before the end of the first half. The response of the crowd was not positive over many of those replayed calls. Fenton may have some influence there as he thought there many good no calls like that in hockey. The Jackrabbits needed more shots in the second half to fall as well.
    Total agreement OH!!!

    1. and this is a big one! we needed to take care of our own business and play better!! and mostly that means shoot better or score better

    2. tommies foul on 90% of defensive possessions and probably 1/3 of their offensive possessions (maybe more). lots of hooking and lots of contact created by the offense. yet KG gets called twice in the first two minutes of the game and Sayler gets called for an invisible foul to send minnesale (did not look or really care how to spell it before). just these 2 plays make at least a five point swing in the game

Jacks need to control what they can control, BUT the refs should NOT be making that big of an impact on the game

    3. never have never will cheer for STU. people want them to be the cute little story about the team that came from D3, including THEM!! they have big money nobody needs to treat them like the little guy. they use that little guy story to act like the underdog and hope people treat them that way. as I said before. i cheer for them to lose every game in every sport, except when they play usd. then i cheer for both teams to lose

    4. the doctor absolutely does start whining to the refs the second he gets off of the bus. the only difference between him and Dawn is that he acts humble and innocent every time he gets in front of a camera. Dawn just acted grumpy and whiney all the time. he LITERALLY acted befuddled and flabbergasted BOTH times Bjerke shoved Wilkinson in the middle of the back as he went up for a board

I will end with this. the Tommies absolutely ARE a very good basketball team!! sadly their antics overshadow that fact and make them totally unlikable!

in all my years of coaching, I never found a magic offensive scheme that worked well with poor shooting.

Definitely frustrating to watch. I still can't root for Bison or 'Yotes.

I'll merely be done caring about MBB for this year.

You cheer for both teams to lose, LetsGoRabbits? I have done this many times and it never worked. I wish you better results.

The season is over, and I mean the entire season. I do not have another team to cheer for this year. Now I get withdrawal symptoms as I wait for the next basketball season (but IU football makes this much less painless after August 1). We have good men. I was too tired last night to listen, but it seems like our men competed well but couldn't shoot well enough. I need to put a damper on my thinking for at least a month to let things settle out, but we might have a much better team next year.

The loss of Mr. Buchanan was a stiff uppercut.

          Go Jacks.

St Thomas ended the first half on a 9-0 run and it was all down hill from there

Losing Wilkinson for a big stretch when he got his 3rd foul didn't help.

To start the game jacks were attacking the rim and drawing fouls and it was working then they went away from that and couldn't buy a 3 pointer.

I hope our core group returns and I really appreciate how hard our guys fought all year until the end. Would've been easy to get down most nights but they never really looked checked out. Mors gave a lot to this program and I'm thankful he was a Jackrabbit.

Let's be honest though, we just need to get in some out-of-state players who have athleticism and length. Peterson and company have a lot of work to do the next few weeks in the portal. Our fan base clearly still is behind this team as evidenced by our attendance but too many bad seasons in a row and that culture will be gone.

we definitely need a couple guys to shoot it better
I love KG. He's tougher than heck. But he sometimes struggles, offensively and defensively, against quicker opponents.

Don't forget the Hendo Factor in assessing this season. The ex-coach of the Jacks took starter Owen Larson and two of SDSU's best recruits (Goodbary, Bahl) with him to Drake. Add a couple of season-ending injuries (Alvarez, Buchanan), and the Jacks didn't have much depth. The new coaching staff deserves a full off-season to show what they can do.

If only someone had predicted the officiating would play a big role in the game because of how St. Thomas plays.

They will continue to do it, until the officials stop it. Also Minnesale is a stud, he could start for the Gophers.

They are a very good team. They're just very hard to watch. And they do complain about every single call. It gets so old.

Hendo somehow has found some post-season magic. Drake beat Nagy and SIU yesterday and Belmont today to make the semi's.

I've also been hearing lately that things were not all that great between him and Sell and that played a decent role in him leaving a year ago.

I have to say that watching our coaching staff is really weird/embarrassing at times. There were countless times where there were 3 if not 4 coaches up yelling at players or the refs. There were assistant coaches all the to half court yelling instructions. If you didn't follow the Jacks, there are times when you would have no idea who the HC was. I understand that the assistants all have roles, but it has to be confusing for the players.

Watching our guys play defense I can agree about being confused.
