So if fatigue caused them to make bad plays in the first half, how could they possibly play their asses off in the second ?

You have obviously never dealt with employees or personnel in an industry with cumulative fatigue where lives are on the line. I have and know how it affects decision making over time. It's not just physical, it's mental decision making.

Jacks lose on mental mistakes in the first half and free throw shooting, all related to cumulative fatigue.

Tons of research on cumulative fatigue in aviation, wildland fire and the military. Hendo might want to take a look at it.
Baylor had 28/9/7 but you want him off the floor. That’s a hot take.

The bench was short at the outset, and he didn't have the luxury of the margins of victory/leads that AJ did

The 3rd game in 3 days those legs are a little tight, ndsu grind works im a tournament. How did their head to head go during the season?

No, it's a flawed analogy, and admitting that doesn't detract from your purportedly considerable load management experience

I think part of that is opponents have learned to play him a lot more physically. Wilson's offensive game is essentially a finesse game. He's not a "power forward" that way. His game's never been to physically overpower opponents--he slides by them.

Yeah but his quickness and athletic ability was able to deal with physical play.

He had no bench to develop. Quite literally. Noah and Trey opted out and Wingett was obviously hurt and not available.

If you want to talk about bench development how about Easley. He was a dude on defense the last 1/2 of the conference season.

SDSU was the better team tonight and all year. Dominated many facets. Pretty hard to beat a team that is shooting out of their minds like ORU was tonight.

Scheierman is an incredibly complete player. So fun to watch. He can play with the game on the line too. Conference player of the year in his future.

Friedel is very good on the defensive end which was missed and often overlooked.

Really solid team, fun to watch. Just dont catch the breaks and the ball goes through the net more than it really should for the other guys sometimes. Feels like a waste of a year but glad we get to run it back with this team next year.

Hopefully next year will be different. Any word on why Wingett didn't play? Turnovers, missed free throws, point blank misses, lack of defense (90 points) and ORU just shooting at a high level was the difference. Guys played their heart out in the end, but not enough!
Jacks played with great effort in the 2nd half and I'm proud as heck of them for putting it all out there.

I know benches are shortened during tourneys and that is why it is so important to work on roster minutes though out the season. Baylor has a lot more gas in the tank if he plays 2-4 less minutes a game.

That is my point about cumulative fatigue, it is insidious and hard to quantify. Only after years of data of aviation accidents, wildland fire fatalities and military command mistakes has fatigue been understood in peer-reviewed science.

My frustrations aren't just with this game, ORU shot lights out and we've seen Jacks teams since the mid 90's get bit by that.
It's the not actively preparing for the eventual time when the teams runs out of gas. It's happened 3 years in a row that the Jacks have looked fatigued in a conference tourney.

Adrenaline does amazing things. Also it's mental mistakes, not just physical.

Plenty of research out there in sports and other high risk industries that support the Jacks choke job in the last 3 SLT's could be due to cumulative fatigue. It's not acute fatigue which you cite in your post, it's a different beast altogether.
