  • GDT: Jackrabbits(5-2) vs Bison(4-1) @ Frost Arena

This game has many different talking points from the conference race, home winning streak, and return of injured players from both sides. The bison are settling into the favored role as they have lost Griesel to injury about 9 games and they have brought Samuelson back the last game from injury. SDSU hopes to welcome Wilson back to the floor tonight as well and Key will be getting his legs and timing tuned some more as well. The Jackrabbits had a 34 game streak ended by the bison in 2016. Shahid and Ward are fulfilling their preseason accolades as both average 15+ points per game. The bison also have a tough defense limiting teams to 64. The Jackrabbits need to protect the home court and draw even with the bison at the top of the conference race. Go Jacks!!

I'm interested in the dynamic of the Jackrabbits Offense.

When Key was out...they ran Everything through the post. They'd just get a post entry to Matt or Douglas, and then, if teams doubled they'd hit the cutter or kick it out for 3. It was the simplest offense ever, but effective if you can't stop the bigs.

Key however, brings a different skill set with his speed and penetration. He was effective against Arizona and a few of our other earlier games...

Not to say they can't integrate him into the offense, as Douglas and Matt were the leading scorers when he played as well... but just more of a change in styles. Something to watch.

This is a huge game. With a loss we fall two games back of NDSU in the loss column with a trip to Fargo still to come.

Is it a gametime decision on Wilson? Has he been practicing?

On Monday night Hendo said he went through all the drills but they held him out of contact work. Said they would see how things went yesterday and decide, but he sounded hopeful.

                #3 can't guard Dentlinger.

I don't think we will have to take a 3 if they don't double in the post. Kruser is too slow for Wilson and otherwise Dentlinger has a size advantage over who they put on him.

I think the boys got the message that they need to play better D than they did on Sunday.

We should be up 20, Wingett has made some bad decisions on the offensive end. Will be great if they can keep the lead with Wilson on the bench till half.

                      D has been great!

Our 3 pt shooting is so streaky.

Havent seen Key in yet I don't think.

Hopefully Wilson can rest for the rest of the first and let Dillon get some time so Wilson doesn't get a cheap 3rd foul in the first.

Would like to see us a little cleaner on offense, outside shot is struggling. Wingett hasn't really added much a steal but didn't do much with it in transition.

This stretch without Dent and Wilson is when we need Key to create offense.

When they went to zone our offense really struggled to get the ball in the post and with out Wilson in there to cut through the zone the offense struggled. good think NDSU offense struggled also.

Wilson's return is big. NDSU can't stop Wilson and Dentlinger when they're both in the game. Haven't seen Key in the game, which surprises me a little. The Bison's strength is their guard / perimeter play.
