Throughout this process, I'm sure Nagy was asking himself the important questions like: will I ever be able to wear my blue sports coat again?



I'm guessing that's going to the back of the closet for the foreseeable future.

Here's a classic picture of Coach Nagy on the opening page today (4/4/16) of the Wright State Athletics website. This is Coach Nagy as a lot of us will remember him: demanding more; seemingly hard to please but wanting the best for his athletes; coaxing maximum effort and then some.

Best wishes to Coach Nagy (except if the Jackrabbits ever play Wright State -- I'm confident he will understand. ).

last thought about it i guess is a lot of times coaches go when its a good time to go. Maybe he was happy here and liked it, but a lot of coaches go with the mindset to leave before they want you to leave.

Well he likes the color green in $$$$ otherwise he would have stayed.

Also Delta State has green as its primary color.

The way I see it, it wasnt the right job to leave for. but it was the right time to leave. sort of bittersweet. I see him using Wright state as the stepping stone. If does well the couple years there could easily move on from there with plenty more looking for him.

The spring signing period begins on April 13th. We have to have somebody hired by the end of the week because I believe we need at least two to sign for this class. If nobody gets hired soon, the team will be looking pretty slim because no one is recruiting for us right now. The coach needs a couple days to bring in a couple guys. I really hope on JUCO guard and then a freshman at the least.

150 people will probably apply, most you probably have never heard of.

With Sell's other hires they have come from all over and have been strong, so I don't know if the whole local ties thing really matters.

As for Nagy leaving, I said it before the year started, that if he was going to leave this would be the year. Because you had some quality seniors, and after listening but not leaving before, if he didn't leave this year he was going to quit getting contacted and basically send the message I'm here for good. Also facilities are on their way which means fundraisers and construction and I'm not sure if Nagy really wanted to go through all of that.

As for him leaving? Good for him, I've said it before, this is good for a mid-major program.

What is next? IDK, but I'd like to have a coach in place by the end of next week.
