    Re: 2/27 DU Game

Here's what I understand to be the bracket for MBB @ SUMMIT (in order of most likely result IMHO)

    1 Seed - NDSU
2 Seed - IPFW w/ Win vs. UNO Sat or SDSU loss, SDSU w/win vs. USD and IPFW Loss vs. UNO or SDSU loss and Denver win @ NDSU and IPFW loss @ UNO
3 Seed - SDSU w/win vs. USD and IPFW win vs. UNO, IPFW w/ Loss @ UNO and Denver loss @ NDSU
4 Seed- Denver if Denver loses at NDSU or IPFW wins vs. UNO, IPFW w/loss to UNO and Denver win @ NDSU
    5 Seed - USD
    6 Seed - WIU
    7 Seed - IUPUI

    Bracket:
1 - NDSU Bye to semis Monday vs. winner of 4 & 5
    2 - IPFW/SDSU/Denver Saturday vs. IUPUI
    3 - SDSU/IPFW Sunday vs. WIU
    4 - Denver/IPFW Sunday vs. USD
    5 - USD Sunday vs. Denver/IPFW
    6 - WIU Sunday vs. SDSU/IPFW
    7 - IUPUI Saturday vs. IPFW/SDSU/Denver

Hope that makes sense. The Jacks are now at worst a 3 seed so we won't see NDSU until the finals. For the best case scenario for the Jacks we need to beat USD and root for UNO. That not only makes the Jacks the #2 it gets the Jacks Sunday off. Also, it is best if NDSU beats Denver. That would make the Bison play the winner of the Denver USD first-round game. Denver matches up pretty well with NDSU.

I like the Jacks against anyone in Sioux Falls but NDSU is the obviously the team to beat and they've handled us in the first two meetings. I'm not really big on the whole "it's tough to beat a team three times in a season" thing but we haven't played well against them. We would be the underdog and our team has some seriously good karma on that floor. I think it would be an unreal final. That being said, I'd sure love to play USD or Denver. Sorry Buffalo Chip fans, just shootin' it straight.

The cool thing is that you can make a legit case for any of the top 4 seeds to make a run at the title. It should make for an exciting tournament. Selfishly I hope the Jacks MBB ends up the 2 seed so there are Jacks teams playing on Saturday, Monday, and hopefully Tuesday. Will make for a fun weekend in SF. We've got rooms and staying the weekend.

Probably right, but if SDSU was Div II, we would have never seen Jordan Dykstra in a SDSU uniform.

Neither argument is relevant in my opinion while both are off topic. Both are fair assessments and deserving of conversation. Go Jackrabbits!!

To play what I believe is the most talented team in the league on Monday evening and our main rival. Then have to get back up the next evening for another good opponent would've been difficult. I like the scenario where the Bizon have to get through a semifinal then stare their rival in eye for a third time in the championship. I know I'm getting way ahead of myself but I would take the route of the 3 seed over the 4 any day.

    GO RABBITS!
Plus being 4th seed, you would have USD to start with. So 1st game rival (USD), 2nd game rival (NDSU) and 3rd championship. Talk about emotional drainage (maybe more so w/ the fans).

Hopefully the #4 or #5 seed will knock them off in that round. USD was within a missed-FT of doing it in Vermillion and Denver/FW have already done it. Stranger things have happened in March.

    1. NDSU will not make the championship game. Braun will either go cold one game or get in foul trouble, and that will be the end of that.
    2. USD is going to make a run to the championship game. That's just a gut feeling. They are due.

I'm ready for the madness to commence!
I see it the other way. Ndsu too much talent to not make the finals atleast ans usd doesn't do well under pressure. Probably lose a game they could win.

It is true that the stars will be aligned and the 27 what ifs pass through the eye of the needle, but the probability of Ft Wayne and SDSU losing on Saturday AND NDSU losing at home to Denver would be the parlay Vegas would take your money offering tremendous returns and hoping that you have friends along. So you are saying it is possible would make a good movie. Please excuse my tunnel vision.

I apologize for my tunnel vision. The most likely opportunity for the Jackrabbits to be #2 seed will be the Omaha upset of Ft Wayne mentioned earlier and a Jackrabbit victory over the yotes.
