If you want the best team to represent your conference, then yes.

I love it, top 2 teams should get byes every year.

Give the teams that earn it a real advantage and plus they don't have to play a game against a 7/8 seed with a horrible RPI. Some conferences are even more extreme than that in regards to protecting its top teams...just take a look at a MAC or OVC bracket.

EDIT: I didn't realize the Bison had a straight bye into the semis. Kind of puts a damper on this year's tournament for me. No team, even SDSU, should get an auto-bid by only winning two games. Yuck.

One thing is for sure, this Summit league tournament is going to be great! I'm going to make some predictions on the men's side, which I know some of you won't like:

1. NDSU will not make the championship game. Braun will either go cold one game or get in foul trouble, and that will be the end of that.
2. USD is going to make a run to the championship game. That's just a gut feeling. They are due.

I'm ready for the madness to commence!

Next, have to finish easy shots. A foul right at the rim should result in an "and one" more often the it does for Jacks. Finish plays.

Watching DVR of last nights game. 10 mins in. My impression? 2 crappy offensive teams playing at a low level. Ugly start to this game. 12-9 with 10 mins gone. Wow.

I agree with your point. What I didn't agree with was saying he struggled in his year as a Jack when he was buried behind a future NBA player. And wouldn't you expect most D1 players to put up better numbers if they dropped a division ?

Yes, that was the whole point of my original comment. I don't think its apples and oranges to compare Dykstra's career numbers to Colburn and Tetlzaff as he has done it against better competition.

My point is that he went from being a backup with limited production in the minutes he had at SDSU to a player of the year in a DII conference.

By correlation, which I admit isn't perfect, Jordan Dykstra also likely would have had better numbers playing DII than the already great numbers he has put up in DI at SDSU.

If Denver wins and IPFW and SDSU lose, SDSU gets #2 seed. 3-way tie and SDSU has a 3-1 group record. Denver can't get any higher than a 3-seed.

Thanks, I amended my post. That's a whacky way to back in to a #2. I'd rather just beat USD and take the #3.

Here's what I understand to be the bracket for MBB @ SUMMIT (in order of most likely result IMHO)

1 Seed - NDSU
2 Seed - IPFW w/ Win vs. UNO Sat or SDSU loss, SDSU w/win vs. USD and IPFW Loss vs. UNO , Denver w/win and IPFW and SDSU Loss

If Denver wins and IPFW and SDSU lose, SDSU gets #2 seed. 3-way tie and SDSU has a 3-1 group record. Denver can't get any higher than a 3-seed.
