  • Re: NCAA 6thFan Contest

I think a poster on the WIU board proposed a fair solution yesterday. When the contest organizers realized on Saturday that there was massive breaking of the rules ( including schools that didn't lose votes ) the entire contest should have ended and the $100,000 should have been divided between everyone in the Elite 8. Admit that it was a cluster and move on.

I'm not surprised one bit. I have yet to see a "contest" like this that isn't decided by the organizer and not the participants. I didn't wast anytime voting for anybody. Still think it was reasonable publicity at a low price.

Good publicity, no doubt. Personally, the first week I was a voting fool, but I seriously cut back when everyone started using scripts and crap.

As far as publicity goes, I probably cast around 250 votes and couldn't name one of the sponsors other than the NCAA.

Hi Jackrabbits. Congrats on the win last night. Our (lack of) depth and our youth got to us and we just couldn't hold with you guys in the second half.

As a few of you may have noticed, we ended up making it the finals in the 6th fan competition. I realize there's a lot of you who want nothing else to do with this whole thing, but for those of you who do want to still help a fellow Summit League/MVFC member against a well-supported BYU team, we'd appreciate some tweets and/or votes.

Head over to the 6th fan website to vote: http://6thfan.ncaa.com/
Also, you can tweet with the hashtags of #6thfan and #WILL to vote for us
Or post the same tags with the website's shortened link on facebook: http://fw.to/oi1eMKY #6thFan #WILL

And if you really want to do everything you can to help, there's instructions on how to legally (according to the NCAA's rules) vote multiple times in a row very quickly on Western's 6th Fan Speed Voting page: http://www.wiu.edu/giving/vote_wiu/index.php

Thanks in advance for your help.
