OK Caramel and no back problems for this young man. He is ready for a breakout year!

If you watch the film, he's trying to chase Felt all around the court because Nate and Carlson are guarding Braun and Alexander. Throw Dykstra in to replace Nate in that matchup and it's not good for us. I think we'll start this with this lineup, but I'll be very surprised if this is the lineup that is consistently finishing games. I think Nagy will go based on matchup and many times we'll go with a 3rd guard with Dykstra sliding to the natural 4 and Larson or Heemstra at the 5 (my gut says Larson).
Intriguing lineup but with several concerns. White and Dykstra will have trouble defending, doesn't mean they can't make up for it on offense. Both need to rebound the ball and hustle all the time. Both need to show maturity, each an be a little "volitale". If an opponent has a shut down point defender this lineup may struggle a bit with pressure.

I like the potential, I want the realization.

Horstman is the "under the radar" player for this year. All the chatter is about the starters and the freshmen. Anything we get out of Zach is a bonus - and there is the potential that he might have a breakout year. If he is healthy our depth could be amazing.

I can't wait to see this team in action. Gojacks.com lists next week's game coverage as "jackrabbits Sports Network" hopefully that means we will have video coverage.

Sunday could be the scrimmage in Lincoln according to TV. As far as new players being an influence, I remember when Nate and Tony played one year and Jordan came into the mix another. If we discount youngsters for lack of experience, we may overlook the newcomer of the year.

Prediction: This team is going to be much better than a lot of people here seem to think they are going to be. Don't discount experience of two straight NCAA tournament experiences, the potential of players stepping out of Wolters' shadow, and the toughness achieved from the schedule of the last two seasons.
Anybody in the Summit better come with their A game to dethrone the Jacks.

I think the Jacks will struggle at the beginning of the season. It will take time for the guys to figure out their position post-Nate. Hopefully by midseason they gel and are rolling by the end. I plan to be patient, hopefully the Chicken Littles don't show up if we lose some early games.

Only thing I have seen is Miles on Twitter saying alot of fouls were called. Nothing about performance though.

I like the little birdie that floated that tidbit of info.

TV had a retweet from Tim Miles that suggested that he wasn't happy - "Played today-if this is the way JA and the boys want it,it could be ugly for awhile". Not sure if he was talking about their level of play,or the number of fouls called or a combination of the two.

It seemed like the fouls called since he thought that shooting fouls should start at 10 and double bonus at 12 and give players 6 fouls. It could be a good year to have deep bench early.

This year will be a tough year for some college basketball teams but calling a lot of fouls will be huge for college basketball in the long run. Last year, college basketball might have been one of the most boring years of college basketball play I have seen. If college basketball can find the median between current college basketball style of play and rules and the NBA's current rules and style of play, I think it would vastly improve college basketball as a whole.
