We are just about there,we need a step quicker players,but the power conferences seem to get them all..

That's why teams like ours can not afford to have a bad shooting night when going up against a top-10 team. We're just not going to see that type of athleticism (combined with skills) at SDSU. Reality. That does not mean that eventually winning a game in this tourney is impossible.

Coming into tonight there was more of a concern over whether he could defend rather than whether he could score. I think he held his own on the defensive end. If he makes it to the pros he won't attract all the defensive attention so I think he will be fine offensively.....in a weird sort of way he may have actually helped himself tonight.

You are exactly right...this game might have scared away a few NBA teams.

I doubt it. Nate was playing against a defense designed to stop him. In pro ball he will not see defenses that are keying on him. I guess Burke's draft stock went down tonight too then. He was the Big Ten player of the year and had as bad a game as Nate.

Yes, there were a lot of really good 3 point looks that didn't go down. A streak of those going in would have made things interesting. Carlson, Fiegan and Dykstra played well. Nate tough night and White no where to be seen hurt. Too bad. I wanted to at least see Nate go out with a strong performance. Oh well.

We looked gassed out there as the second half wore on. Couldn't contest and couldn't rebound. Nate played great defense on Burke. Wish he could have a couple fall for him from outside.Chad White disappeared on us. Hope he comes back ready to ball next year.I think we will be all right next year. Sad to see tony and Nate go, but they helped put us squarely on the map.

The guys didn't do the little things that would have made us competitive: they made poor passes, were too passive on offense, couldn't hit 3-pointers, had poor recognition of the hot shooter for the other side.

That having been said, Michigan is really, really, really good--when they want to be. It took them a while to want to be tonight, but they got there.

Yes,this....
take for example the last pocession for the jacks, made slow ,summit type pass, the defender just about nabs it,but it goes back to a Jack....this time ,he puts some steam on the pass(it still barely gets by defender,as hard as it was thrown) to Fiegen i think,he gets by his defender and goes for easy lay up.There strategy of forcing us out and stealing passes and leaving the entire area under the hoop wide open worked.They either intercepted passes, was in the offensive players face, and wouldn't allow anyone to break their defensive perimeter to the hoop.The reason they could pull this off was superior quickness.

Exactly. Nate locked Burke up. A couple times Burke traveled and it wasn't called because he was so surprised Nate cut him off. Nate will be just fine.

nater could have went to the next level tonight but wasnt able to do it, played great d though really fine. read a review that the scouts were looking for him to stay in front of burke and I thought he showed that. and 71-56 is a realistic score between sdsu and michigan in my books, sounds about right, but was hoping for a fairytale

So was I. Wolters did everything but bust it open on offense, which, considering UM's D, would have been a miracle. I hope to see Nate play at the next level. I think he can do it. I'm also excited about the future.
