As one might imagine, I watch a ton of Big 12 basketball. We have to play physical from the get-go. Baylor has the tendency to shy away from physical play. If we play physical and can hit some shots to start the game, our chances improve dramatically.

I would think they play man from the start as well. They'd be out of their minds to play their soft zone against us.
There is a difference between SDSU playing physical and a team like Mizzou, Kansas, or K-State playing physical. The Jacks just need to go out, play their game, and let the chips fall where they may. Baylor isn't going to be intimidated by anything we do just like the Jacks won't be intimidated by anything Baylor does.

Is there really though? Physical play is physical play. I understand the athletic ability of those teams, including Baylor, dwarfs ours at many positions, but I think Tony Fiegen is a pretty strong kid. He'll force those guys to muscle him around, he won't back down. Neither will Griff. That's the type of play to which I refer. I'm not asking them to be Thomas Robinson or Ricardo Ratliffe. Just to box out hard, hold their ground, and force Baylor to go through them to get baskets.

We need to manhandle Baylor like we did to Buffalo in the bracketbuster game. All week long we heard about how they were one of the best rebounding teams in the country and had a couple good power forwards and we took it to them from the start. Sometimes you punch a bully in the mouth and they stop being a bully pretty quickly.

Both Baylor and SDSU are coached by sons of coaches:

That looks a lot like the highlight video from our blowout win at Washington.

It was the personal attacks from you on Kim Mulkey that rubbed the Baylor fans the wrong. As far as the WBB game from a few years ago, your girls played a commendable game.

Word. We'll get ripped for lack of athleticism for eternity. But it's a new world order in the NCAA. In today's college basketball world, on-court leadership, experience, and coaching trump athletic ability.

My second-favorite cinderella is this year? Long Beach State. Four senior starters and Monson had them play the toughest out-of-conference schedule in the country. Pitt, San Diego State, Louisville, Kansas, North Carolina, Xavier, Auburn, Kansas State. They'll play anyone, anywhere. And it will pay dividends in the tournament.

I was at the game in Lubbock when the Jacks had the better team and outplayed Baylor but still lost. Several factors contributed to that, some of them within SDSU's control, many of them not. In the end, Baylor had more points and SDSU went home. I think that Jackrabbit team would have won at least 1 more game that year, if not 2. It was a travesty and will forever leave a sour taste in my mouth. Mulkey's behavior was juvenile and unprofessional and that isn't a judgement on my part, that is a fact.
