    Re: Capital One Bowl

This one is achieveable. Got it down to 639 early this morning, after it had been over 1,000 yesterday. We need lots of help, though, so spread the word. Two good things at the moment: we have more votes than any of the other "losers" in this round, and we have a narrower margin than any of the others who are behind. Get out the vote!!!!!

it's very important to get out there and vote as we are in 11th place if you count just the votes. at the end if there is a tie it will go by most votes. MAKE SURE and vote every day!!!!

Possible JackDaniel, but one of the saving graces is that we got that last win to put us a game ahead of everybody. That means when the top 4-6 go back this week, we will still have an excess win over the rest. And remember, this week, the matchups were basically the top 6 against the bottom six. That won't hold true in the future, as things bunch up. Our voting will make a heck of a lot of difference in some of the weeks ahead. So stay tuned and keep voting folks (we do need to keep our vote total up since total votes at the end could put some teams in and kick others out!)

Its all a conspiracy by CapitalOne to keep things rolling I tell ya. Jack is actually ahead by a million votes but they keep splitting it up to make it look better for the rest of them no talent ugly and in some cases what the heck are they supposed to be mascots. Look at Jack, that masculine, good looking, talented and smart rabbit and then look at the rest of the bunch, Testudo, what is that, the Horned Frog, looks like something out of a cheap Japanese horror movie, then that big red M&M looking thing. Comon folks we can't let this conspiracy continue keep voting for our Jack. Call out ACORN and lets stuff the ballots and get this over with early.

If everyone else votes against the leaders in this competition, then it's probably safe to assume that by the end of the "reg season",all the teams will be bunched together with no clear cut leaders.Who then will be the three to get eliminated? What started out looking good for jack at three and zero could turn into him being drawn back into the middle of the pack in the next couple weeks. This is being turned into a game of strategy, like the old "surviver" reality show.No ones going un-defeated in this game, which will probably lead to a "musical chairs" type finish with only eight chairs.I agree that we should keep voting as much as we can, since that's what we control, what we don't control is how the other schools vote.

Saw a commercial for the Capital One Bowl on ESPN last night while waiting for Sportscenter to start. Was pretty cool seeing Jack Rabbit on a primetime commercial. Was probably some surprised alumns around the country who haven't heard about it yet to see their mascot on ESPN.

Just as a follow-up, as Jack trails Hairy Dawg by 4265 as I post this: As I said in another post, it is not Jack vs the world, it is the top teams vs the lower teams. We were lucky last week, by 7 votes, to go to #1. Right now, the five biggest vote getters are #8 Boomer, #9 Butch, #10 Bucky, #11 Hairy Dawg, and #12 Sebastian. Conversely, all of the 2-1 or better mascots (Jack is 3-0) are trailing, except for Big Red, and that is partially because he is against Bill, who is #3, and that race is close. You can bet that almost everybody, after voting for their own mascot, is voting against the top mascots, and thus, our problem is the same as the other leaders.

Bottom line: we need to keep voting to keep our total vote count up, and we have to look towards being in the top 8 when week 11 is up. Onward and upward.

Quick throw up a road block as this is a road we don't want to start down. I see bad things ahead.
