While they weren't great, they weren't all bad and the one kick down the field was great. I'm not sure I remember well enough the first couple of kicks for Neal Bainbridge, but he became an outstanding punter. Here's hoping Dean Priddy can step it up as well.
Well, just wanted to report that Dean Priddy had a VERY good night and all his kicks looked good. I know when we recruited him, they felt he would be a good one...got some great hangtime on two of them as well.

Just got back from the game...and what a game it was!! While I didn't hear who the MVP was and assume it was Kyle Minnett...I have to say that Jason Bonwell was absolutely astounding tonight. He was all over the field and made play after play.

Just have one remark about TV's comment on his blog that USD has more explosive skill players on offense than SDSU. I'm not saying they don't have a good offense, but until you put it up against FCS level players, I'd suggest holding back judgment as to how "FCS ready" they are.

I've never heard of any college's homecoming referred to as a week but what the hell its now going to be called Hobo Week I'm fine with it. As far as Daze I think that it is overused.

Almost every school has homecoming week, but homecoming day is almost always the day of the game.

yes its a week but out here at BHSU its Swarm Days, at USD its D-Days I know its a week but I have never heard of it as a week or day just as Days. Part of the response was in reference to the pet-peave about day and week and whatever

Just back from the game and what a great showing all around by SDSU. Liked the new plays the offense ran. Berry continues to improve and looking forward to watching Minett the next 3 seasons. I'll agree with others that Bonwell is all over the field. His name doesn't always show up in the stats but the guy just never quits, same can be said of Batten. Great to see how well Priddy can perform when not trying to kick away from the return man. A crowd of almost 15,000 was great to see and now lets see if we can set a new record next week!

Congrats to the Jackrabbits for the win over Texas State !! Good day for both our clubs as UNI took it to drake 45-7 , our day was just rushing play after rushing play it seemed, ( UNI 345 yrds rushing to Drakes 40 )

But again congrats to SDSU now just keep it going the rest of the year !!

I wasn't picking on you, joeboo. I think most students at SDSU don't know the right name anymore. I talked to a Hobo Day Committee member the other day and he kept referring to Hobo Days. Drives me nuts. It's a tradition, one of those things we hold dear at SDSU, and nobody can take the time to figure out the correct term for our homecoming.
                Holy nutmeg!

It was a fun game last night. I got to the stadium 1 hour before game time and was blown away by how many people there were in their seats already. I think this is a testament to how far this team has come in the last 4 years. Think back 5 years ago, would there have been even 5000 in the stands if the team was 0 - 3 and Mankato or St. Cloud were coming to town? Not a chance.

After the game I got a chance to meet Marcel Jones. He was pretty personable and seemed like a nice enough kid. Might be a great pick up.

Bring on SFA and Hobo Day!!!!!

Batten did have a heck of a game. Put Batten on one side and Bonwell on the other, the quarterback is in big trouble.

The new plays with Koenig at QB were great. The combined speed of Koenig and Minnett is definitely something defenses will have a hard time stopping. A threat of 2 people running the ball rather than just one like we had with Kardoes. After a couple plays out of the formation I was thinking "can he throw." It was not the prettiest of throws, but it went for a completion and a first down. The defensive back who started to come toward the line of scrimmage and left JaRon got an earful from the coach after the play. Getting a completion to Wagner right off the bat was also good to see. 3 1/2 more years to watch Minnett- awesome. Can't wait for next week! I thought Berry's stats would have been even better if not for the receivers only going after the ball with one hand a couple of times.

I thought there were a couple balls the receivers could have caught, but Berry needs to place the ball a little better. I'm not trying to knock him because I thought he played a very solid game. He was about 4 throws away from a great game. Just didn't quite put the ball in front of the receiver or get it down enough for them to have much of a chance.

I was not a Berry supporter last season but he is starting to win me over. He seems to be more comfortable and gaining confidence each week. He had fewer throws behind the receivers and fewer bad decisions overall. When a receiver is covered he gets the ball in there but tends to overthrow if the receiver has his man beat. Not sure if he has a little more adrenaline when he sees a man wide open but once he gets that under control, he should be much better QB. Not trying to knock him just starting to like what I see in Berry.

He has seemed very calm in the pocket to me. I was at the Youngstown game, and he got rocked a few times, but still hung in there. Same thing last night. I've been pretty impressed with his poise. Against YSU, there were very few off-target passes. I don't know if you can draw any conclusions from the UNI game... they were just that good. I'm pretty happy with the QB play.

What people who didn't see the Youngstown game don't reallize is that this is a very good team. You saw that at home last night. If you judge only by the UNI game, at least take into consideration the fact that the Panthers are one of the top teams in the country and make lots of people look bad.

Man, I don't know if anyone else has been frequenting the Texas State fan forum, but Saturday's game really shook them up.

I almost wish we would have lost, they are just tearing each other up over there......Well, maybe not lost, but a little closer of a game maybe.
