I sure as fudge don't want that and I won't speak for anybody else but I don't want that. It sounds like the NCAA can't even do its job because of a lack of anti-trust exemption.
The answer, seemingly, is unionization of players and collective bargaining. However, recent jurisprudence has weakened labor, particularly public sector unions (which would seemingly apply to collegiate athletics), limiting the ability to compel union membership.

The end game, as you suggest, is to separate the student from the athlete. Colleges and universities will license their name, image, likeness, traditions and school songs to entities formed for the operation of revenue producing athletic programs.

Interesting thought to separate the student from the athlete... what if college athletics just end? 18-22 year old college aged kids work for a semi pro team and just attend a local school if they want to further their education. A little bit similar to how hockey players might play in the USHL or another league, while also attending a local (often times community college) college or even High School. Or how college baseball players often times play in the Northwoods League or something similar in the summer months. Rather than working for Papa Johns pizza or wherever you work as a college student, while also attending college, instead you work for a semi pro sports team and attend college.

Don't think, nor do I wish, this above outcome ever happens.

What if they sign contracts with the university. For how many years they can play, how much the schools will pay them.....just like pro contracts. Make it a little harder to have players jump every year. All I know is the way it's going is going to ruin it and lose fans in the meantime.

I don't what the correct answer is. I do know that it heading towards being a younger version of semi-pro sports. Sioux Falls has lots of semi-pro sports, I don't give a **** about any of them.

Yes. They wanted to be treated like pros, it should be done this way. Buyouts and all.
