Reporting has him signing a 6 yr contract. Wonder how many 6-6 seasons ISU will actually put up with?Comment

Sounds like Bobbit will be the interim to try and hold things together through their bowl game. After that though, he's likely on the first plane to Ames. Hard to imagine many offensive coaches going with. If he's smart, he'll leave Freund in Pullman.👍 1Comment

Wonder if he tries to get Lujan, money would have to much better than what he is getting at Northwestern.Comment
-
That would be quite a catch and might have been more likely had NW not righted the ship and finished strong. Leaving a coordinator position at a B1G school for Big 12 is a step down.👍 1Comment

Very true about Freund. He's absolutely clueless.Grumbling along and embracing my role. If I didn't care, I wouldn't care. Go Jacks!Comment

This reminds me of the ‘Cowboy’ coach at Sacramento St. Stayed 1 year and is now taking the OC position at Colorado for Coach Sanders…they are chasing opportunities and that’s it. They disregard any type of allegiance!! I guess that’s their prerogative!!! But, look at the top teams in the FCS…hire coaches with an allegiance to the team…is that over or was Rogers kind of a fluke hire…hope so!!!Comment

I think the coach at Sacramento St left because the move to FBS is collapsing. I don't know why anyone, coach or player, would want to jump into that dumpster fire. This reminds me of the ‘Cowboy’ coach at Sacramento St. Stayed 1 year and is now taking the OC position at Colorado for Coach Sanders…they are chasing opportunities and that’s it. IMHO, SDSU promoted the wrong coordinator to replace Stigs. Water under the bridge.
I'm a bit more sanguine than another poster regarding Rogers recruiting in the region. A head coach that has been at 3 schools in 3 yrs may not be entirely appealing unless the current program has deep pockets. ISU does not. And look at the mess he has left in his wake.
I do agree with the comment on Freund, clueless. Mishandled Gronowski.Comment

Would normally agree, but NW is with Rutgers, the least valued/respected in the B10. Iowa St has a much easier path to the CFP.
If a coordinator wants exposure for head coaching opportunities, CFP is the best way to do it.Comment

An interview with ISU AD Pollard, talks about Jimmy at the 3:35 mark. Turns out Jimmy and Jamie had a bromance down in Austin a few years back and fell in love. Jamie then gave Jimmie advice on what he needs to do to become the ISU head coach, kind of explains the hasty departure for WSU, Otz even gave this relationship his blessing.

NW isn't the best B1G job by any means but B1G schools can pay coordinators and players better than Big 12. But who knows?Comment

Well... that's sure something....... I don't have anything nice to say about that.An interview with ISU AD Pollard, talks about Jimmy at the 3:35 mark. The Washington State write-ups indicate that Jimmy openly talked with staff that if Cambell ever left Ames they'd have a real good shot at the job. Disgusting.
It all makes more sense. Pollard told Jimmy he needed to get a G5 job to get an Iowa State job. I wondered why he'd take a crappy job that guys like Vigenn would turn down. He was looking even further ahead. Jimmy's heart was never in Brookings. It was never in Pullman. Is it in Ames?
If I'm a coach recruiting against Jimmy it's pretty easy to point out that there isn't an ounce of sincerety in Jimmy and his loyalty, brotherhood, no BS schtick. But maybe recruits just assume that out of FB coaches these days. Lying narcissists. Yuck.
I hope all the Wazzu Jacks that followed him to Pullman have him a middle finger salute as his plane jetted off to Ames yesterday.Comment
