The University of Northern Colorado is expected to announce Jay Hinrichs as its new athletic director,
according to sources who wished to remain anonymous.
Hinrichs, currently the associate athletic director for facilities and planning at the Uni-
versity of Kansas, will take over as UNC's athletic director as soon as possible, the sources said.
Details of his contract haven't been finalized. It's expected Hinrichs will be paid a salary comparable to former UNC athletic director Jim Fallis, who earned $90,700 annually.
UNC officials declined to comment on the situation until the hiring becomes official. The hiring will be announced at noon Monday at the Denver /UNC Sports Kickoff luncheon at The Coors Club at Coors Field. . . .
