I miss the slight striping down the shoulders of the last couple years' unis. These unis look very similar to the unis when I played. No complaints. I think they look classy, but the hint of the yellow striping on the all blue tops were a nice touch. Maybe these have something similar that just doesn't show in the pics. Guess I know what to ask for as this year's x-mas gift from pops.

Pretty cool, I'd say. I liked the shoulder pinstripes, too, but I won't miss them too much, I think. I'm just glad they didn't go with the curvy, overdone, swoopy stripes like the Vikings (and everybody else recently.) Give me simple any time.

I didn't like the banana pants last year, but the color on these pants seems better. I preferred the smurf look before, but I think I like the yellow (not banana) pants look here. The yellow is more yellow and less orange.

I really like the new yellow pants. Not quite so bright as Jimmy Jack noted above. I'm glad the blue with yellow will be the new standard home uniform opposed to the blue on blue combination that has a been the norm in recent years.

August 30th can't come soon enough!

Eh its just personal preference with the "Smurf set". I don't know if you ever read UniWatch on ESPN Page 2 or the UniWatch blog but he has some pretty funny comments about same color jersey and pant combination. I would like to see blue jersey with the white pants. The yellow looks good though. Just don't go Oregon with Banana suits :-/.

I don't like the yellow pants at all. Didn't like the last color and don't like this one either. I have always liked the same color for both, but either way its the Jacks!!!!

I also preferred the pinstriping on the jerseys. Also, wasn't there pinstriping on the away whites as well? Couldn't remember and was too lazy to look it up. Anyway, I liked the striping. Just my .02...

I like the blue with blue especially with the yellow pinstriping but I gotta be honest, I don't care what the players are wearing.  I'll be a fan as long as they are Jackrabbits.

SDSU gets new uniforms with swoosh

The simplistic design is reminiscent of Michigan, while the porthole mesh fabric is lighter and tighter, meaning it both holds less heat and is harder for opponents to hold.

But, frankly, the most important feature of South Dakota State's new football uniforms, unveiled Monday, is the swoosh located on the left pec and the right hip.

"When a recruit comes in, the fact that we can tell them we're a Nike school is a pretty big thing to kids at the Division I level," associate athletic director Rob Peterson said. "Like it or not, they ask that question."

The answer will be obvious for the next five years. As of July 1, the school's football and men's and women's basketball teams will be outfitted exclusively by Nike, changing from a combination of Wilson, Adidas and Nike. . . . (read more)

Wow, maybe I'm the only one, but ... they look like practice jersies. Sooooo dull, a'la Penn State. Classy/vintage would be one thing, but these are just plain ... well, plain. The blue on blue is especially boring. There could be at least some white around the numbers ... or Jacks above the numbers ... something like that. Come to think of it, we've never really had very nice football jerseys. Last year's away jerseys were pretty sharp, I guess. That's about all. These certainly aren't a step in the right direction. Not to me, anyhow. They're more like stepping a few decades back. I'm not saying I want Oregon jerseys. Nothing of the sort. But we could have done better for a supposed new look. I guess, though, we should all just be happy that they don't have any of the new proposed rabbit logos on them. Here's hoping the basketball unies are nicer.

The whites didn't have a pinstripe, but they had some extra blue on them. The were pretty sharp. They are now history, I guess. Their replacements are kind of dull.

I'm a big fan of the new jerseys. I love the classic look. The blue on blue color combo isn't my favorite but I really like the others, especially the yellow pants.

I like the new uniforms. Simple and tough. The players made a great choice. It's football, not a fashion show. They can wear stripes or pinstripes after they graduate.

I like them too! It really isn't important how they look in the above photo of four players in different color schemes. It is more important how they look when the entire team come onto the field.
