I don't see anyone on this board jumping ship. Not sure why you think that.

Top-level teams win this game. Period.

We are the Georgia of FCS. That's where we stand. And Stig is Mark Richt. That's where he stands. Always pretty tough, but never elite. A game every season that's a big letdown. Some people will think that's pretty good. Some won't. But that's an apt comparison. So let it sink in and deal with it however you wish.

Part of the difference between a successful program and one that's not there yet.
I'm.upset because this team had a chance to do something great this season. The no show against NDSU and UNI games tainted that a bit. But they had the opportunity to make us all forget that today. They got best by an inferior team.

The frustration from many in here is because we know what could have been...

High expectations bring about hard falls.

Tough loss. Tough crowd (on the board). The Jacks had an extremely tough time just getting to the game. They deserve our support going forward, whatever the playoffs bring. Overall, it's been a good season.

This team is two plays from being 10-1. Raise your expectations. Mine are that high. If yours aren't, you aren't aiming high enough. I've screamed to high heaven how good this team is since the SUU win and they continue to underachieve since. Maybe they can prove me wrong. Not holding my breath.

I thought the difference was the results produced by the players and coaches. Our fans need to just try harder?

I vote to kill this thread. This wasn't a trap game and the players won't try to give excuses. We can all 2nd guess and be pissed we lost this game. It just doesn't matter, second season now.

Menagarelli limped off the field a coule of times during the game.

I didn't say it was easy. A top 5 team finds a way to win. We are a much better team than WIU.
I agree we are a better team and if the SDSU travel schedule would have allowed a good night sleep for both players and coaches, I think the result would have been much different. We would have won by 3 scores or more, but that did not happen. I sensed a very tired bunch out on the field for the entire game. This not the same team we saw last Saturday nor the Saturday before. And I was being sarcastic in replying to your post. My bad.

To be honest, this is probably the year that SDSU goes up to Fargo and actually wins. Not because I think it'll actually happen. Only because none of us are expecting it. Hopefully they get a decent bracket and can make a run. If they slide into the Big Sky seed, they could rattle off a couple games. Playoffs start now.
Their QB also hit a number of long ones where our LBs were trying to cover their WRs with our safeties playing ten yards too deep.

However, why didn't we use Mengarelli in OT? He was on fire. Why did we run TC in for only run plays? I thought Stig said a few weeks ago the "flash" was being retired. What the hell happened with that? Just a poorly called and executed game plan. Lots of blame to spread around. Just another choke job to add to the growing list. So disappointed.
