I would say the new bat standards are having an effect on the game. Here is a little food for thought:
2010 - Final ERA numbers:
SDSU: 6.90 Opponents: 9.07
2011 - Through 14 games:
SDSU: 4.77 Opponents: 3.92
I hope as the Rabbits start playing Summit League competition the opponents ERA climbs up to 5.00 or above and the Rabbits falls to somewhere between 4.00 & 4.50. Go Rabbits!
