    Summit WBB 2025-26

    The
Summit WBB had some tough games scheduled to open the season. NDSU handled UNI 63-49. Other than the XDSU teams, there was some trouncing going on with Cyclones pounding the Tommies, KState pounding the Mavs, Air Force beating Denver, & Minnesota pounding FHawks. USD & ORU handled their lower division matches. KC plays Kansas tonight.

USD beat down hated York University, who has a total student body of 440.

I don't get why either school agrees to a game like that. It's like a high school team playing a D1 team. Doesn't really help either. USD's strength of schedule is terrible. Thankfully some of the other summit league schools have more challenging schedules but this is why I want us to leave the Summit. It kills our RPI. Plus who wants to watch that.

Good practice for the non-D1 school and a game on the schedule for the D1 school. Dakota Wesleyan has an enrollment of 1000 and the women played them last year.

Looks like you get four total non d1 games (scrimmage, exhibition, or game). Last year, SDSU women had one exhibition (St. Cloud State) and two games (Dakota Wesleyan, Dakota State) plus a scrimmage?. This year SDSU scrimmaged Drake and had the exhibition w/ Augustana . It doesn't look like SDSU has a non d1 game that will count as a W or L on the schedule.

Non D1 don't count toward NET / RPI and some of the rankings don't count them in the overall W/L.

Good MVC win for NDSU. NDSU plays Gonzaga in Fargo on Friday. Will be the first Zags game. Might be the 2nd hardest game (Nebraska) NDSU has left on their non-conf.
          SDSU plays Gonzaga on 11/20.

KC lost to Kansas 74-64. The starters for the Roos played most of the game while Kansas has the bench playing about half of the game. The Roos shot 23 3pt shots making 9. KC has 5 transfers and 2 freshmen added to the roster.

The weekend found UND lose at home to Youngstown and NDSU lose to Gonzaga in Fargo. Denver lost Friday to San Diego. The Tommies lost Army Saturday. Today preseason 9th place picks in their respective conferences, Loyola Marymount & Denver, played and LMU won their first game. ORU played Ok State and looked like the preseason 9th place choice as they allowed the Cowgirls a record 37 points in the first quarter.

USD @ Kansas State 5 or 6 point game going into the 4th. also black yote uniforms

This is a team without Sundell and Ayoka Lee. Just based on that I was expecting the team to take a step back. Not sure about the transfer situation. SDSU women play KSU during the MTE

now it's a 2 point game. Conflicted about who I want to win. USD win is great for summit. Kansas State win might be better for SDSU considering the big12 schedule.

Hopp has had a nice inbound and a steal that led to a USD 3 that put them up 54-53. 7mins left

Hopp with a 3 in the corner. 64-60 USD 4mins left

Kansas State is receiving 11 votes. If USD wins this, I think this might be the best time to start a "2 bid summit" push on social media even if is short lived.

Hopp took a charge drawing the 5th foul on a KSU starter.

Lots of fouls all around. KSU has 2 foul outs (one player played just 15mins), 1 for USD

71-69 KSU 8.3 seconds left. USD ball. Hopp got a breakaway steal with like 20 seconds left that would have put them up 1 but had the ball stolen from her from behind.

4th year player patience Williams took a 3 and drained it. Career 25% shooter from that range. USD up 1

Meanwhile, ORU falls hard against Lindenwood who is getting votes in the Mid-Major poll.

I don't see the Summit being a 2 bid league due to some really low-RPI teams in our league and USD won't be even if they win out as their SOS is terrible. Good win for them though. However, I think K State has fallen hard compared to the last few years. They have some good posts and international players but aren't playing that well together at all. I think one is gone playing for a national team. Not sure if she'll be back when we play them or not.

Edit: only chance of a 2 bid league is if we lose the SLT and have an extremely good non conference season (aka - we'd have to probably beat at least one of the big top 10 teams - Duke, Texas, or UNC).

I believe it's a Serbian girl. Sounds like she won't be with the team till December.
