Long-term conference affiliation should not be based on the location of the post-conference tournament. It should be based on the quality, stability and future promise of the league.
Let's not forget that the Summit just upped their exit fee last year. That will go a long ways in keeping the current schools in the Summit League. I think the Summit is more stable than some people think. You just can't add some random school to have 10 members. They have to fit and show that that they can help the conference. Douple knows what he is doing.

I went back and looked at your previous post, and checked out your link. From a quick glance, it looks like many of the conferences that have a conference website for viewing are not leagues we want to emulate. These conferences probably have contracted their streaming service for a period of years, and all league members had to agree - and it will likely be phased out as those contracts expire. I would maybe even argue that we are/were ahead of many of the leagues out there by moving away from a conference website/streaming to school/ESPN3 type service.

1-All Jackrabbit home games are on GoJacks.com
2-GoJacks.com will pick up pretty much all away conference game feeds with compatible technology. I've found that many conference away games that don't show on GoJacks.com are available on ESPN3 or that school's website.
3-Away non-conference games are not going to show up on a hypothetical Summit League streaming service anyway, and from my experience it is a crapshoot finding them anywhere online.

This page might be helpful for viewing non-SDSU conference games:

    http://thesummitleague.org/sports/mbkb/2015-16/schedule

It lists viewing options for all Summit League games - although I wish it would have a link to the school's website if they are streaming. Keep in mind, even if the Summit League had a conference site, it would not feature away games like SDSU at TTech.

In the next 7 days, a person can watch the following men's conference games for free on ESPN3:

    ORU at Missouri State
    USD at Wis-Milwaukee
    Southern Utah at IUPUI
    USD at Illinois
    SDSU at FGCU
    WIU at Loyola

There are 59 games featuring at least 1 team from our conference on ESPN3 this year. I believe the entire conference tournament is on ESPN3 as well. ESPN3 gives the conference national exposure we would never, ever get with a conference streaming service.

I'm with you that the setup isn't perfect, but its pretty darn good. Especially when compared to even 2 years ago.
To add to this. The Summit did have a website that streamed all or most of the conference games. That service no longer exists. I'm guessing they didn't stop offering that service because it was so heavily used it was crashing the servers at SL headquarters.

Oh and if all else fails and you can't get the game on a video stream. You can ALWAYS listen to WNAX via the tune-in app.

Uni I would bet my left nut would never join the summit..this is all my opinion but if MVC schools join the summit something freaking major happened in College sports, if anyone thinks the Summit is "better" than the MVC they are delusional SDSU and NDSU would jump in a minute to be part of it and ensure a piece the ESPN games

I don't think I've ever watched a Summit conference game on National Prime time sports network...you can in the MVC
Coverage for SDSU and Summit League games have improved with ESPN3 and the internet in general. However, there is a difference in national exposure for a collegiate program when games are routinely broadcast on ESPN. The MVC may have difficulty keeping that exposure as they lose prominent teams in good media markets. Creighton has a program with a broader national appeal in a very good market - Omaha. While UNO is in that same market, they do not have the appeal for viewership in Omaha/Nebraska/national that Creighton experiences. With the loss of Creighton and the Omaha market, ESPN may not view the MVC as strong as it had before for broadcasting games nationally.

While the Summit does offer quality basketball that is closing the gap with the MVC, we do not offer the national media market appeal that the MVC used to offer. It will become even more difficult for the MVC to maintain their two or more representatives annually in the Big Dance. The same could be true for their ESPN coverage. Based on this, I like the Summit for the direction we are going and the opportunity it offers SDSU on an annual basis.

I would beg to differ. If Witchita State leaves the Valley that conference is no where near what it once was and I highly doubt the SDSU or NDSU would jump if offered. UNI has done well, but they have a slightly elevated opinion of themselves that is borderline delusional.

Arguing about grammar is not striving to make SDSUFans.com a better place. I believe, run on sentences are a common error on this board especially when we are excited and are trying to make a point. Often I leave words out, and later come back to revise. Except for Jimmy Jack, JackJD and Jack#1, most of us probably did not do well in English and composition classes. I sat for the remedial English test more times than I care to admit. So there you go.

Well,I'm not taking advice from someone on grammar that doesn't even know what a sentence is,btw, your last post is FULL of incomplete sentences and .... aren't you the reading comprehension expert also.I thought so.I think I am being clear and concise,if you are having problems, maybe you have reading comprehension difficulties. You are acting juvenile,I'm too old for this pointless arguing.Nuff said.

Yeah its really gotten easy to follow the Jacks. Watched the women last night and watching the men now. Compared to even two years ago the difference is huge. We can't complain about the "exposure" we get.

the Summit used to have all conference games on its website for like $48 a year. they did it for two seasons. I used to watch the games that way. I dont know why they quit doing it unless the schools changed who they had like neulion and i think USD uses someone else which is why gojacks doesnt have video of the dome games. they need to use the same online service to do it.

Yeah I have no problem seeing Jacks games.
